Rebel POV

I hide my face in Austin’s neck as we approach the pack house. I don’t want the pack to see how I look. The growls and looks of anger are starting to get to me. When I get to our room, I’m looking in the mirror.

“Darling, your grandfather and grandmother are coming tomorrow. They know what happened and they insisted on coming to visit and stay with you a couple of days. Plus, my mom is desperate to see you too.”

I inwardly groan, but I don’t say anything. I know they are worried about me, but I just want to hide away until I’m healed. “Okay. It will be nice to see everyone.”

“Darling, no need to pretend. I know you are not in a visiting mood. But you know I couldn’t stop my mother and your grandparents if I tried. He chuckled.

“I know. I will grin and bear it. I just want to rest in our room.”

I hear Renata coming down the stairs. “Rebel, my dear girl!”

I turn to look at her, “Hey mom.” I say quietly.

Once again, I am met with an angry look. I know it’s not towards me, but at what was done to me. Still, it doesn’t help when everyone stares at me like they are angry.

“Austin, tell me you made him suffer an agonizing death.” Renata said quietly.

“I wish I could bring him back, just to do it again, mother.” Austin said darkly.

“Very good.” Renata said. “My dear girl. Come, let’s get you to your room. Would you like me to have food brought up to the room? I’m sure you must be tired of that dreadful hospital food.”

“That would be nice, mom. Thank you. I would like to take a bath first, if that’s okay. Maybe food in an hour?” I ask hoping to have a few moments of respite to myself.

“Of course, my dear girl.” She says with tenderness in her voice.

“Mom, I’m going to take Rebel up now.” Austin says as he starts to climb the stairs.

Once in the room, Austin sat me on the bed. “I’m going to draw that bath for you now, darling.”
