His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 169

Chapter 169

Rebel POV

I know Austin is working on finding Morgana. I know he is desperate to keep his family safe. I understand he has to go, but something about this doesn’t feel right. She was able to enter my mind like it was another day for her. If she could threaten me so easily, then why doesn’t she portal in and grab me? Wouldn’t that be easier?

What’s the deal with the Rising Moon blood line? Why does she hate us so much? I have so many questions but no answers. “Why does Morgana hate me so much, Austin?”

He sighs and runs his hand over his face. “It’s not you. At least not directly, darling. This is revenge against your grandfather.”

“My grandpa?”

“Yeah, there is a long history there.” He says, before recounting the story that my grandpa told him. When he was done, he added, “This is why I need to go to the Central Council. They have a witch alliance with a witch named Liora. We are taking a gamble on her helping us, but I have no other answers or solutions. She can tell us what weakens a witch and how to defeat Morgana. She might even help us.”

“So, Morgana is seeking revenge for her heartbreak? Liora may turn on us altogether if she ends up standing with Morgana. You have a fifty-fifty chance that she will help. Don’t you think I should come with you, Austin? Maybe I can see if she is really telling the truth about her willingness to help?”

“Rebel, I want you here, safe and sound. The Luna Guard will be with you at all times. Doctor appointments are here in the pack house. I don’t want you leaving the pack house or pack while I’m away. I will have extra guards keeping watch over the nursery and posted by the doors and stairway. I’m tripling the patrols on the pack borders until further notice too. I know this seems excessive, but I don’t know what Morgana will try to pull while I’m away.” He says adamantly.

“But, Austin, how will you know if she isn’t telling you the truth? All of this sounds so fantastic. I feel like there is part of this we are missing. Why doesn’t she take the fight to Reid directly? What is she hoping to gain by hurting us? We have nothing to do with this situation.”

“I thought the same thing too. The more I thought about it though, the more convinced I am that she is trying to wipe out the entire blood line. She doesn’t only want Reid. She wants any blood relations to him. A way of wiping the blood line from existence. At least that’s my theory.” He says, “And if you are with me at the Central Council, then you are more exposed. I don’t want her to get to you.”

“Austin, she can portal in. What’s to stop her from doing that, as soon as you leave? I continue to say, ” something doesn’t feel right about this whole picture.”

“Maybe Rebel, but it’s the only shot we have. I’m going to pack. I head out in the morning.”

I feel the need to continue repeating myself to him about my love for him. It’s like I have to make sure he knows. I settle our pup back into the bassinet and walk over to Austin, “Babe, I need you to understand, I love you, no matter what happens. I’m yours, always. You are my life, my love and my everything. Remember my words, promise me.”

Austin looks at me lovingly, “I promise I will remember. How could I forget? You make me feel loved every day and, in every way, darling. I will be back. Don’t worry.” He says, putting his arms around me and kissing me

passionately. I wrap my arms around his neck and pour all of my love into our kiss. I’m so nervous about him leaving and this feeling is not settling.

Morgana POV

Poor little Austin. Does he think he has the upper hand? As soon as the Central Council spoke with Liora, she called me. I told her everything Reid did and how I was banished for trying to win him back.

“Morgana, what that wolf did was despicable. I could wipe him out when I see him tomorrow.”

“No, I have everything planned. This was the diversion I needed to get Austin out of the way. Play nice, like you are going to help him. Let him think you are really on his side. Seduce him if you have to, Liora. While you are doing that, I will have the rogues attack Blackstone. While the diversion is going on outside, I will portal in and take Rebel. I might have to make a second trip for the brats, but Rebel would be the best one to take right now. She is still newly a mother and hasn’t gotten back into training yet.”

“Very well. I will keep Austin occupied until you have Reid’s granddaughter. After that, I will stay out of the conflict. I need to appear neutral to the Central Council, Morgana. I only entered into the alliance to help our kind. I must look indifferent, when the time comes. I need to know you will not sell me out.” She states very shrewdly.

“I’m in your debt for helping me. This has been decades of planning. I’m heading towards the grand finale of my revenge, Liora.” I assure her.

“Where will you go, once you have her?”

“There is a village in between the rogue and witch territory in the most southwestern point of the western region. They will not be able to find us there. I will subject Rebel to all kinds of torture until she doesn’t

remember who she is or the life she once had with her mate.”

“What about her mate? Do you plan to kill him?”

“No. He will go feral on his own. He is a casualty in all of this, collateral damage, if you will. Sacrifices must be made. He is one I’m okay with making.”

“Okay. Austin and Reid will be here, the day after tomorrow by noon.”

“Excellent, then the party starts in the evening that day.” I smile evilly.
