Chapter 184
Rebel POV
After dinner, Austin and I head upstairs to his office, and we are followed by Reid. Everyone else stayed behind to spend time with their pups. I must admit; I miss my boys too. After the meeting, I want to go to the nursery and sit with them for a while. I’m not used to spending so much time away from them; but right now, there are important topics to discuss.
I’m introduced to Stefan shortly after we settle into the office. After our pleasantries, we discussed the events that both Austin and 1 encountered to Stefan and Reid. “There was a second witch, and she looked like me, pre- pregnancy. I would like to know who it was. She was helping Morgana and that makes her an enemy to our family councilman Stefan.”
“Please call me, Stefan, Luna.” He begins, “Does anybody suspect who the second witch was and where she came from?”
“I suspect is was Liora.” Austin says.
“Yes, Reid told me that you said she was a trap. Can you explain further?”
“Unfortunately, I cannot. When I am giving the authority to explain further, I promise not to hold back. At this time though, I cannot reveal my source.” Austin said with finality.
Stefan raises an eyebrow. Clearly, he doesn’t like secrets. I don’t blame him, I’m sure it would grate my nerves too, especially if you are thinking that you have one witch willing to be in an alliance with the wolf world.
“Councilman, I know it’s not the answer you want to hear, but it is the truth. My sources say Liora is a traitor. She is not helping our kind. I suspect Liora was the fake Rebel. There could be one way of knowing for sure though.” Austin says.
This seemed to peak Stefan’s interest. “I’m listening.”
“When I was chained up, I managed to loosen the chains. When I had the witch against the wall, I wrapped the chains around her neck twice and I am sure I left bruising on her neck. If you try to have a meeting with Liora, I think you will see if she is trying to hide her neck marks. If she is, then it was her, helping Morgana.”
I chime in, “Stefan, I would like to be there with you. Remember that Liora has not met me. If she is keeping up appearances, she will have to act like she doesn’t know me. I have a potion that I can use on her topically and it will suppress her magic. If she is our person, you can have iron shackles and manacles ready to take her into custody. It takes a few minutes for the potion to work, so we should keep her talking long enough for it to take effect.”
“A potion, you say? Stefan asks.
“Yes, Sir. I met with an incredibly talented doctor while Austin was with you. I met him by way of Dr. Hadley,” I say to Austin as I turn back to Stefan, “Perhaps, you’ve heard of him. Dr. Higslee?”
“You personally met with Dr. Higslee?!” Stefan said, clearly shocked.
“Yes. It turns out that he is a longtime acquaintance of Dr. Hadley. Our pack doctor. He was in the area for a conference about the healing power of herbs. Anyway, he came over and helped make a concoction with some samples he had. I’m sure with a bigger sampling, we could have more than enough ready. I would need to

contact him and see if he would be willing to make another batch. He is more about healing and not about weaponry. “I say sternly. I don’t want his brilliance to be taken for granted or used for terrible things later.
“Of course, of course.” Stefan says. “We need to detain the threat. I do not wish for this to end in bloodshed either. Please see if you can contact him. Then if he is willing, we can get together and plan our next steps. We must hurry though. We need to take pictures as evidence and bruises don’t last forever.”
“Very well, I will talk with Dr. Hadley tomorrow, Stefan.” I said.
“Okay. I think that is enough for tonight then. Let’s regroup tomorrow afternoon with updates. Agreed?”
“Agreed. Thank you, councilman.” Austin says as he shakes his hand.
After Stefan leaves, it’s just Austin, grandpa, and me. I want to talk about the warriors. I would like to ask my grandpa for help too.
“Now that Stefan is gone, I need to talk to you both about the warriors.” I said, looking at them with steeled determination.
“What’s going on, Rebel?” My grandpa asks.
“Well, when Austin was captured, I had the trackers start looking everywhere for him. When the trackers picked up on his scent on the Eastern border, they were able to do more than just track his scent. The trackers were telling me that they are able to track other scents, and they now have the knowledge to know what those scents are and what they can be used for; which is how I knew that Austin had been given an aphrodisiac and that it was potent.” I said.
Austin is looking at me wide eyed, and grandpa is looking at me like he knows what I’m about to ask.
“You think the warriors have gotten their gifts and you need help with it, Rebel?” Grandpa asks.
“Yes. It would be helpful to know who has what and how that benefits our pack. Then we know what we have in our arsenal to fight Morgana.” I say looking between Austin and grandpa.
