Chapter 217
“Thank you, Dr. Moreno. We are indebted to you. Thank you for saving my mate.” I told him.
“It’s my job, Luna. No need to thank me for doing my job.” He said.
“My offer stands. If ever you need anything, please let us know.”
“Will do, Luna. Did your lunch come?”
“No, but it can wait until we move Austin into another room.”
Dr. Moreno eyes darken. “Lunch should have been brought to you a while ago. You are pregnant and you need to take care of yourself too. It will take a while for the transfer to happen. I will make sure lunch is brought in for the both of you.”
“Thank you doctor.” I said. Truly, I just want to spend time with Austin. I can’t think about eating right now. I’m so excited that my mate has woken up.
I turn to my grandparents, and they are looking at me. “Rebel Willis, you need to take care of yourself too. You are carrying another one of my great grandpups and I don’t want you risking your health anymore.”
Austin chimes in, “You might be the one sleeping in another room if you don’t start taking care of yourself too, my Luna.”
I smile at him. “Goddess, I’m so glad you’re awake, Austin.” I feel my eyes tearing up again. I’m probably more emotional than normal because of the pregnancy, but I don’t care. This whole situation has been a harrowing experience, and I can’t believe it’s over. I thought we would never get a moment of peace.
“You sound like you might have missed me, darling.”
“I missed you terribly. I love you so much.” I said lowering my lips to his and kissing him gently.
“Well, it would seem that everything is going back to normal. Your grandmother and I are going to the hotel. I will continue resting there. I will have someone bring clothes for you, Rebel.”
“Thanks grandpa. Thank you, grandma, for being here.” I said as I give them both a hug.
A little while after they leave, our lunches are brought in. Austin is giving soup broth and crackers along. I was giving a club sandwich and fruit. I helped Austin eat first, but he refused to eat until I did. “You’re pregnant, baby. You need to eat. This is broth. I can handle this myself. Please, start eating.”
“Goddess, Austin. I love you. I was afraid you weren’t going to wake up. I have been worried and terrified these last twenty-four hours.” I said, with my voice cracking.
His eyes softened as he looked at me ready to break down again, “I’m not going anywhere. We have a life to live now and more to bring into the world later.” He said teasingly.
We sat and talked while eating our lunch. Austin kept saying he was sorry that he worried me. As if he could help it. His voice still sounds weak, but he has regained the color in his complexion fully. I’m hoping he can be discharged today, but realistically, it probably won’t be until tomorrow. I want to finalize my conversation with Morgana and leave her to rot in her own hatred and disappointment.

Once I moved the trays out of the way, one of the pack warriors came to the room with a bag for me. Inside was a change of clothes along with some toiletries, that the warrior said was prepared by my grandma. When the warrior left, I put the bag down and gave Austin another kiss. He is regaining strength because he deepens the kiss and it’s so good to feel him this way again that it sends an ache to my core.
Austin can definitely smell my arousal and growls. “Wait until I’m recovered. You are not getting a moment’s rest, my little minx.”
“I’m going to shower, my alpha.” I said as I walked away, pulling my shirt over my head as I walked into the bathroom, teasing my mate.
It works, because he growls and says, “I can’t wait to get out of here, fully recovered. I’m going to have you screaming in no time.”
