Chapter 265
Aiden POV
I received a call from one of the guards in the afternoon. “Jared, what news?”
I’m dreading the news to be honest. Reid and I haven’t been able to figure out the best path to get Thalia away from her father Today is the wedding and if Jared is calling, it has to be to tell me that she tied the knot. I don’t know if I can take hearing the news. Reid told me to put it on the speaker so we both could hear him.
“Alpha Aiden, I hope you are sitting down. I have good news and bad news.” Jared said and he sounds anxious.
“I am, what happened?”
“The good news; Luna didn’t get married. She and her sister ran off. No one knows where they went.” He said.
Hope is flickering in my chest. “But you know, right?”
There is some hesitation, “Well that’s the bad news. No one knows, Alpha. We don’t know either. She literally played magician and vanished, Alpha.”
“Are you able to pick up on her scent?”
“No. Her scent isn’t anywhere back there, Alpha. Like I said, she vanished.”
“That doesn’t make any sense. Even if she left, you should have picked up her scent, Jared.”
“It’s not there, Alpha.”
“Continue searching. See if you pick up her scent on another part of the property. Don’t get found out.” I said.
“Yes, Alpha. I’ll check in again, soon.”
As we hung up, I sit back again. Reid has a huge grin on his face. “What are you smiling about?”
“Bro, she didn’t marry that asshole. She was serious when she said that to Armando that she wasn’t marrying him. You’re still in the running. We need to find her now. Did she tell you about any other family or favorite places?”
I realize Reid is right. She kept telling Armando she wasn’t going to marry him, and she meant it. If I find her before they do, I’m bringing her back here. She and her sister will be protected here. “No. No other family, no favorite places except that she

“Well, fuck. Let’s hope Jared picks up her scent somewhere and finds her and her sister before her asshole father finds them.
“I should be there, not here, Reid.”
“Bro, we are in uncharted territory with this entire situation. Let the guards find a lead and then we will follow it. Just be patient a little longer.” He said.
“What if we find her and she still doesn’t want to come back with me?”
“I’m telling you for the hundredth time, I don’t think she was rejecting you. Looking at her family and remembering her words, I think she was trying to spare you her family drama. It seems like she had a plan the entire time too. Let’s wait to see if your guards can track her down.”

Thalia POV
The next morning, right at the crack of dawn, I woke Mia up and we took turns in the bathroom to shower and then got ready to leave. I made sure to strap several of my knives on me. My long jacket covers my thighs and back. I don’t need to alarm the hotel staff. The hotel had free breakfast, so we ate some food, grabbed an awful cup of coffee and headed out.
Last night, Mia and I spoke about all kinds of ways to disguise ourselves. Things we hoped to do when we got to Tio’s pack. We even talked about going to college. We decided we are going to use a different identity when we get there. We are going to talk to Tio about it first. Mia wants to go to medical school, and I guess she could do clinical hours where Tio works.

I haven’t thought about what I want to study. My life changed at fourteen. After that, I’ve been in survival mode. I haven’t really thought about what I would like to do with my life, now that I’m free to make my own choices. I was just focusing on getting my freedom first. I suppose I have time to think about it now.
As Mia and I drive, we talk about all the possibilities. I’m much more interested in hearing about what kind of a doctor she wants to be and her interests than talking about mine. Mainly because I don’t really have any. I didn’t get the opportunity to have interests.
We stayed on the road, only stopping for gas and snacks. We didn’t stay anywhere longer than fifteen minutes. If we could do it in less time, even better.

It’s mid afternoon by the time I call my Tio. I called him before I turn off the country road. “This is Dr. Moreno; how can I help you?”
“Tio, we are close.”
“That’s great. How far away?”
I’m looking at the GPS and it’s showing about twenty minutes out. “I’m coming from the eastern direction. I’m about twenty minutes out, according to the GPS.”
All of a sudden, something hit our car. “Fuck!”
“What happened?” Tio asked.
“Something hit our car.” I said bringing the car to a slow stop. “I think I have a flat.”
