Chapter 314
Thalia POV
I’m walking on the beach. I feel the sand between my toes as the water washes

feet. It’s nighttime. The moon is perfectly full, and the stars are glimmering in the dark inky black sky. I see the moon’s reflection in the water and hear the rustling of the palm leaves on the trees.
There is a pier up ahead and I see a shiny reflection shine in and out from under the pier. Like a flashlight flashing against a mirror. The wind is blowing me in the pier’s direction. I look up and I see Aiden standing on the pier, and he is reaching his hand to me, telling me to come with him. I reach up to him, and he is close but not close enough to grab my hand and pull me up with him.
“Aiden!” I called back. “Don’t leave me down here!”
“I’ll never leave you Thalia. But you have to let go want to be up here by myself.”

yours,
“No, you’re not, Thalia.” He says with sadness in his eyes and it guts me. I love this man more than anything, I’m completely his. Why doesn’t he believe me?
“Thalia…” I hear a whisper coming from the reflection under the pier. When I look over, I see something moving around. I don’t want to worry about that though, because I want to go to Aiden.
When I look back up to where Aiden was standing, he is gone. “AIDEN! PLEASE DON’T LEAVE!”
“Thalia…” I hear the whisper again. I’m crying but I wipe my tears away and walk towards the underside of the pier, in search of who is calling me. “Thalia…”
“I’m here. Who are you? How do you know me?” I ask as I call out.
“I’m you.” The voice said.
“Me?”
“Yes. Come closer.”
As I go deeper into the darkness, I start seeing shiny objects glinting in the dark. I am trying to adjust my vision and keep my emotions at bay from losing Aiden.” Where are you?”

“Look through the opening in the door.” The voice said.
I look and there are small candles lit on the other side of the door. There is a massive black wolf covered in silver chains. I open the door slowly, looking for threats. “Who are you?” I asked again.
“I’m you.” The voice said. “I’m your wolf. I’m Nyx.”
My wolf is a massive black wolf? And I don’t mean just the fur. Her eyes are completely black, the pads of her paws are black, her claws are black. Even her teeth are black. Not from decay either. She is the most solid black wolf I have ever seen. She is more massive and blacker than Aiden’s wolf. This doesn’t make any sense; I’m not an alpha. I thought only alphas got black wolves. “Nyx? How did you get in these chains? How long have you been here?”
She looks at me with sadness in her eyes, and suddenly all my trauma replays in my mind. She was there, protecting me. Making sure I stayed alive, and she absorbed all my pain.
“These chains are your trauma, Thalia. You can’t be with Aiden when you hold on to the trauma.” She said. “Release the trauma, Be honest about your trauma. Only then can I come out.”
Suddenly, it occurred to me that Aiden was saying, I haven’t let go of all my trauma. I haven’t let go of my fears completely. Nyx is giving me the keys to break free.
“Don’t be afraid to feel, Thalia. Don’t be afraid to let go. Don’t be afraid to confront the maker of your trauma. Don’t be afraid to feel the pain from it. You are powerful. No one knows how powerful. Not even our mates.”
“I will figure it out. I promise you; I will get you out, Nyx.”
“Don’t be afraid of the pain to break free, Thalia. Aiden and Leon will bring you pleasure and pain. Let them. Confront your trauma. Don’t let it control you or hold
back. Don’t be safe.”

I feel myself being pulled away. I feel myself being sucked out of the world I am in. I started screaming for Aiden and for Nyx. Screaming for them to save me and not let me go when everything turns black and I hear Aiden’s voice in the background.
“THALIA! BABY! WAKE UP! I’M HERE!” I hear Aiden calling me.
Suddenly, I jolt awake and scream, “NYX!” Tears are rolling down my eyes, and I grab on to Aiden.
“Aiden. Don’t leave me. I can’t take it if you did.” I sobbed into his chest.

He is holding me tightly, “Baby, it was just a dream. I will never leave you.”
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” I said, sobbing.
“Baby, why are you sorry?” He says, pulling my eyes towards his. His own eyes are filled with worry.
