Chapter 315
Aiden POV
It’s four in the morning and Thalia is sleeping in my arms, when suddenly she starts crying in her sleep and screaming for me and Nyx not to leave her. She is having a nightmare. I don’t even know who Nyx is, and I don’t know why she would think I would ever leave her. I’m not going anywhere.
When Thalia wakes up shaking and crying, she confesses she is scared of losing me, scared to really face her trauma, scared of feeling the pain from it. It’s about damn time she realizes it too. I’m glad she woke up with that realization. Then to hear that she saw her wolf and her name is Nyx. Leon is dancing in my head right now. He wants to get his mate out and I understand.
Her confession of everything being taken from her, including her ability to have pups, and now she is afraid that I will be taken from her, based on what Tina said, I feel a dark shadow blooming inside my chest. That bitch really doesn’t know when to mind her own Goddess damn business.
“She said the council will force you to leave me and she will be there, ready and willing to give you everything you need.” Thalia said.
I grab her by face gently, “First, no one is going to take me from you. Status be damned, baby. Second, Tina could not inspire me to get a hard on and fuck her, even if she got a witch to give me an aphrodisiac. She’s nothing. You’re everything. Third, whatever fears you have, we face them together. You are not alone.”
I won’t tell her that Tina is right about the council, but that is why I was already planning for Isaiah to take over. I’m prepared to lose my status if it means Thalia is by my side. She doesn’t need that stress right now. While she is in a talking and confessing mood, I want her to tell me everything.
“What else has you scared baby?” I asked.
“I’m scared that I won’t be enough for you, like I wasn’t good enough for my father.” I said shakily.
I kiss her and look her in the eyes. “Fuck your father. He is an asshole that will have his day in my court. I’m not forgiving either. He will suffer.” I started. “Not only are you enough, baby, you are everything. You are my air. You are my heartbeat. I will never love another woman the way I love you.”
Her eyes
widen like she can’t believe what I’m telling her. “Why is it so hard to believe I love you and only you?”

She looked down. “My father once loved my mother fiercely. Then he didn’t. People’s hearts change.”
My eyes softened. Her only point of reference in her life was her father. “Thalia, look at me,” I said as I lifted her eyes to meet mine, “My father met my mother, when he was thirty. Do they look out of love?”
“No.” she whispered.
“My brother was mated to his mate at eighteen. He’s thirty-two now, do you remember his face when he spoke about Navy?”
“Yes.” She whispered.
“What about your Tio? He met Sophie right before I was born. Do they look out of love?”
“No.”
“They are all fated mates. You and I are fated mates. We are not chosen mates like your parents. That may be why they don’t love each other anymore, I don’t know, but I do know I will never stop loving you.” I said to her, kissing her lips. They are puffy from crying.
I pull her on my lap and kiss her. “I love you more than my own life. If by the Moon Goddess’ miracle, we ever have a pup, you both would be my life. Please trust that the Moon Goddess knows what she is doing.”
“My mother always said that if you are wolfless, no one will want you. Because she is wolfless and no one wanted her. Until my father and then he stopped loving her.”
“Sounds like she came from a shit pack. Where is your mom from?” I asked.
“I don’t know.” She said.
“Is your father the only reason you can’t fully trust me?” I asked.
She gasped and looked at me like she had just realized something. “You’re right. He is why I have trust issues.”
Now we are finally getting somewhere. I mean, I knew this was the issue, but she would never admit anything. I’m thankful she had this dream and saw her wolf. She needs to start facing these things sooner or later.
“Thalia, it sounds like he is blocking you from truly moving forward. You have to be able to look at your past and not let it control your future, baby.”

“You’re right.”
“I also think you are projecting your past onto your sister and that’s why you are so overprotective of her. Because of everything your father did to you. But she is here now, and we will protect her. Just like I want you to trust me to protect you. Give me your fears and I will take care of everything else, mojito.” I said as I caressed her face.
