His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 369

Chapter 369

Alden POV

“Son.” My dad called as I started running towards the hospital.

“Run with me dad, I need to see Thalia.” I replied)

My dad runs with me but grabs my arm. “Son. Listen to me.” He said and with that serious tone that I know means he is about to drop a bomb on me.

“Tell Damaro and Valeno about the Moon Goddess’ blessings.” He said,

“Dad, we lose the blessings then.” I’m looking at him incredulously. He knows the rules like Il do.

But dad just looks at me, “Moon Goddess told me this, Aiden. We need to tell them. Something big is coming. We are going to need them.”

I think back on how many times the word ‘war’ has been mentioned and now there is this prophecy. So much secrecy and it’s driving me insane. Now I have to expose our pack. I barely know Damaro and Valeno. If the Moon Goddess says it though, I obey.

“Fine. But right now, I need to see Thalia. She jumped in front of a bullet for me, dad.” I said and my voice is cracking. I told her not to put her life in danger for me. Now she is passed out in the hospital.

“Let’s go see your mate.” Dad said looking at me with his eyes softened.

Once we get there, the nurses simply point to her room and I enter. I see Raul, Rodrigo, Mia, Blanca, Luca, Damaro, Valeno and my mom all in here. Thalia is sitting up in bed, wide awake and the tightness in my chest loosened.

“Mojito!” I rushed beside her and pulled her into my arms for a hug. “I told you not to put yourself in danger for me. Why did you do that?” I said my voice is hoarse. I don’t care if everyone sees it or hears it.

“Guapo, Armando is a sharpshooter. He was aiming for your heart. Silver or not, you would have died.” She said.

“You could have died!” I said exasperated, holding her close in my arms. “Valeno ripped is head off. He isn’t a threat anymore anyway.”

Damaro speaks up, “No. Julian is the bigger threat, Aiden.”

“I was more concerned about Thalia, otherwise I would have killed him myself.” I said.

“You could have tried and you would have lost. Julian is a Shadow Maw. His men were Shadow Maw. You are not ready.” Valeno interrupted.

Thalía looked at Damaro and Valeno. “They are Shadow Maw?”

“Yes, sobrina. I’m one man and your grandfather is too old to fight that many. You were shot and your pack can’t take on that many of our king Not yet anyway,”

I stand up, still holding Thalla’s hand, “I have heard the word ‘war’ and ‘prophecy’ thrown out multiply times recently, Someone needs to tell us what is going on and what does it have to do with my mate.”

“And why does he want Mia?” Luca added.

Blanca is looking at Damaro. Her eyes are wide and scared. She knows but isn’t talking. She grabbed his hand, “It’s beginning?”

Damaro looks at his daughter, “Yes.”

“What the fuck is beginning?” I growl.

“Perhaps, we should all sit down.” Valeno said.

Raul and my dad leave to get a couple of extra chairs, and once everyone is seated in the cramped hospital room and the door is closed, Damaro begins.

“The Moon Goddess must find Blackstone incredibly special to make your pack the chosen pack, Aiden.” Damaro said. “There is a shift coming to our world, to our kind. Moon Goddess is disappointed by how her beloved wolves have turned on each other for greed and power. Every day, every year, hell…every generation, the corruption continues to get worse. People like your father, Thalia, are a perfect example. Diego was trying to reach ranks he was never meant to reach. His obsession with power made him hurt you, your mother and your siblings.’

“What kind of shift is coming, abuelo?”

“Let me explain a little about our history. Then it will help you understand the future and why you play the most important role in that future.” Damaro said, “The Shadow Maws were the first species of our kind. We were here before the Lycans and before the werewolves. Moon Goddess used to come sit with our species and have meals at our table with us. Those days. were much simpler. She saw we were lonely with no other species to interact with and she created the Lycans. They were not as powerful as us, but they had strength. It took a great amount of effort to rid our world of them, and even then, they were not all eliminated. But their numbers were so small, the remaining few died off.”

“If the Moon Goddess saw them as trouble, why didn’t she eliminate them?” I asked.

“Could you eliminate your own child?” He retorted.

No. I couldn’t. I would never. Thalia is pregnant with my pups right now and I couldn’t imagine a world without them, and they are not even here yet. I nod my head at Damaro, and he shrugged his shoulders lightly and continued,

“The Moon Goddess came down to eat with us one more time. She said that she was going to make a weaker species for us to befriend. However, she was going to scatter them everywhere and wanted us to scatter as well and keep an eye on the werewolves. That’s why the Shadow

Maws broke up and disappeared. Over time, our kind became smaller and werewolves rose, slowly replacing us. However, we knew this would happen as the Moon Goddess told as it would. However, it would only be temporary. We would rise and stand again, creating a new species between the Shadow Maw and Werewolves. A hybrid of bot our kinds. That is the shift that is coming. It will start with you both. All of your pups will be a hybrid.” Damaro said.

Rodrigo then asked, “What about Mia and me? We both have wolves only. Aren’t we hybrids?”

Valeno looks at Rodrigo and shakes his head, “No You both are wolves. This has to do with the prophecy,”

“Exactly,” Damaro said. “I never thought it would be from my own bloodline that this prophecy would start to reveal itself, but only one could be pure Shadow Maw. The Moon Goddess chose Thalia. Then mated her to one of the strongest packs anywhere….Blackstone.”

“So, what exactly is this prophecy?” I asked.

“The prophecy spoke of a war. A war is our kind and greater than when we fought the Lycans. Because the war is between Shadow Maws. Werewolves are going to be the causalities, unless we prepare now. From the moment Thalia got her wolf, the clock began its countdown.”

Thalia’s eyes look extremely serious and nervous “Countdown?”
