Thalia POV

“Before you finish him, I need answers. I understand he wanted to kill my wolf thinking Ma would be the shadow maw, but he wanted to kill me, Aiden. He made Rodrigo kill his wolf, but he didn’t try to kill Rodrigo,”

My mother is sniffling with tears rolling down her cheeks. “I wish I could turn back time and never have met him. I’m so sorry my children.”

I feel recovered thanks to Nyx, so I slowly get up and kneel in front of my mom. “Mima, you are not to blame for Diego being a royal asshole. But I need answers. I need the closure.”

“Is the closure really that important, Thalia?” Rodrigo asked me. His expression is serious but not hateful.

“If you grew up with Diego being indifferent to you, and then he takes you to be raped, beaten, tortured and then molests you and feeds you henbane pills to try and kill you and you never did anything to him, wouldn’t you want to know why?” I asked and then added, “All my life, he loathed my entire existence, Rodrigo. I need to understand why.”

Aiden helps me stand, “Then let’s not wait anymore. Let’s get your answers.” He looks at Abuelo, “You wanted to use your gift on him too, right?”

“Yes, I need to see his memory.”

“I have an interesting gift too. It mirrors yours but it’s not on command like you use yours.

Aiden said.

“Really?” Abuelo asked.

“Yes. I see why people make their decisions. For instance, one of the girls that is going to turn in a couple of days, she is doing it because she never had a home. So, she because she feels like Blackstone is a community, she made the decision to turn.” Aiden said.

“I would like to come see Diego as well.” Tio Raul said.

I nodded and after I’m discharged, Mia and Luca go back to the pack house and take ma with them. Austin and Rebel go their separate ways. Rebel said something about the menu for the transition party for Canary and Sin.

Rodrigo decides to go with ma and spend time with Mia and Luca too. All that’s left is Aiden, Tio Raul, Abuelo, Tio Valeno and me.

Chapter 372

Before we enter the dungeon, Aiden explains it won’t be a pretty sight. He also explained that Diego is not the only one being tortured at the moment and told everyone about Rose.

Tio Valeno smirks, “I like your style Aiden.”

“Just brace yourselves.” He said as he grabbed me by the hand.

As we walk in, we hear people heckling Diego. I also hear a woman screaming in pain in the distance. It sounds like pain and despair down here. As we get closer Aiden calls out to the

rogues.

“Alpha Aiden, are you here to disrupt our fun?” One rogue says.

“Yes. Plans have changed and we have to move our timeline up. You will not be shortchanged though. What I promised you will receive. However, I ask that you not leave yet for the time being. I would hate for you not to finish your session. Just allow us sometime with Diego.”

“Sure, have fun with ‘Ass Chaps’ as we call him.” Another rogue said. “Come on boys, let’s go back to our room.”

As they pass us, I turn my attention to Diego. He’s tied over a bench. His face is bloody and he looks completely depleted of life.

Aiden bangs on the cell doors. “Well, Diego…Are you starting to get the idea of what you put your daughter through? Do you understand the pain now?”

“Fuck you.” Diego spat, albeit, weakly.

“Oh no, I’m clearly into women, but don’t worry, once we are done here, I’ll send your friends back in.” Aiden smirked.

I stepped forward, “Diego, I suffered because of your heartlessness when I was just a pup. You never cared about me or loved me. Why? Why did you hate me so much?”

“What does it matter? Don’t you have a happy life now?” He said with defiance.

“You tried to kill me at fifteen with henbane pills. So yeah, it matters. Why did you want me dead?” I asked.

Abuelo steps up and touches his hand and sees first-hand what my father put me through. Nyx shows me and it makes me emotional to remember myself in that state. Aiden stands beside me and holds me.

But then Aiden locks onto Diego’s memories. Nyx shows me what Aiden is seeing. The memory of his hatred for me began before I was born. It started with my mom finding out she was pregnant. Then I saw it. I see the memory of him telling one of his men to run a paternity

test on me.
