Chapter 377
Isaiah POV
My mother is slow cooking pork and beef ribs since this morning. She has always known how to slow cook her meats. The smell is mouthwatering and it’s permeating all through the pack. Everyone knows this is for tonight’s celebration of Kaia and Sinclair turning. Part of me wants to send them home and not turn them at all. Those two harass the hell out of me and it has only become more frequent as the time has neared.
Aiden told me it was because they are excited but nervous. I hope it calms the hell down after the transition is done. The warriors don’t seem to mind. They think those two are a blast and they certainly don’t mind two women ogling them while they work.
I make it over to the training facility and when I enter, I hear both of them in there. They are both training. I didn’t even know they could fight. I’ve only ever seen them handle a gun or some nerdy tech stuff.
I hide in a corner and watch them. I’m surprised to see how hard they train.
“Damn it, Sin! Protect your leg! I could have swiped your knee just now!” Kaia barks out at Sin.
“Ugh! I know. My head isn’t in the game right now, Canary.” Sin said, taking a step back.
Kaia relaxes her stance, which is actually in great form, then asks, “Nervous about tonight?”
Sin runs her hand over her face, which is a very masculine gesture and surprises me. “Not about the turning. I’m nervous about closing loose ends.”
I listen closely. These women don’t say anything about their past. I only got snippets from Aiden about the both of them, but I’ve never heard them talk about it.
“Your foster siblings or foster dad?” Kaia asked.
“Dad more than my siblings. I don’t even feel like they are my siblings anymore to be honest. They all changed and I didn’t change with them. I was never like them. Besides, my brother and sister are dad’s biological kids. He wanted me for other reasons. You know that.” Sin said a
mystery way.
“What other reasons? He didn’t…you know…”
“No. He was cruel but not a pedophile.” Sinclair said. “Let’s just say, I wasn’t his type and I was glad for it. I much rather prefer the treatment I did get versus that, any day.”
What kind of treatment is she talking about? She said he was cruel. How? These women are full of mysteries. Like why does a married woman, like Kaia, want to turn and find a mate? She has a husband already. She is my age and it’s hard to imagine that she has a bad marriage.
“Kaia, I don’t understand you, though. You are married already. Are you sure you want to turn? What about your husband? How are you going to finish loose ends with him?” Sinclair
asked
“First, I’m absolutely sure. Second, he is a loose end I will the off.” Kala sad with response,
“Does he treat you badly?”
“He doesn’t treat me any way,” Kala said and then started staring at the ground, “Our marriage is more smoke and mirrors, Sin. I will tell you about it after everything is settled. For now, just take my word for it.”
“Fine.” She said, “But I want all the details,”
“Agreed, I want all the details from you too.” She responded.
They started sparring again and I have to admit, their technique is good. They both are strong and fluid in their movements. They would make decent warriors in addition to weapons handling and nerdy tech stuff.
I’m curious to see what kind of wolves they would have too. I don’t think either of these women would get a classification of Omega from the Moon Goddess. I think a warrior status would be fitting for these too.
When you look at them though, it’s quite the contrast. Kaia is blonde, athletic, loud and confident. She is clearly a leader type personality. Sinclair is quiet but follows Kaia’s lead. She has brown hair and is athletic but nerdier in nature. She has freckles across her nose too.
