I am still trying to figure out the best way to merge with Ironclaw. I’m currently in Crossfang, working on some things, trying to come up with a proposal that benefits both sides and helps this war.

Thalia is spending time with Mia and her mother. I don’t want to interrupt their time together. I gave the gems to Thalia to give to Mia so I could work on this whole Ironclaw business this afternoon.

I called Alpha Max, and on the second ring, he picked up. “Hello, Alpha Aiden. How are you?”

“I’m well. Preparing. How are you?”

“Getting older. Try not to get old. It sucks. I have a bunch of different doctors. I could invite them over for a party and down all the pills they give me with a shot of whiskey.” He complained.

I just laughed. “My father says getting old sucks, too. Although mom just says he’s being dramatic.”

“He isn’t. We went through enough battles in our younger years, and now body parts I didn’t know could hurt, hurt.”

I chuckled again, “Well, I hope you will start feeling better soon.”

“Thank you, my boy. What can I help you with today?”

“I was wondering if your son is in the pack right now?”

“Not this week, but he will be next weekend. Trying your luck again with the merger?”

“I have to try. It’s important,” I replied.

“Come over next weekend for dinner. We have dinner with Councilman Edgar. Maybe he can help you persuade my son.”

“That would be great. Would you mind if I brought my beta? He recently met his mate, and I think it would be a good experience for her.”

“Isaiah found his mate?”

“He sure did. She is a feisty one, too. She is going to have her ceremony this weekend, too. I could bring them both afterwards since it will be later.”

“I look forward to meeting your beta female then.” He said.

“Great, I look forward to it.”

We hung up, and Thalia walked in as soon as I put my phone down. I smile at her, and she looks very excited. I raised an eyebrow, and I saw her eyes darken. She wasn’t kidding when she said ‘Aiden Effect’. I must still have that swag.

‘Of course we do. When am I running with Nyx again?’ Leon asked.

‘I’ll talk to Thalia.’

I stood up

and put my arms around her. “I’m glad you are happy. I want you to stay happy, Mojito.”

“I’m very happy,” she said, and it made my heart swell for her.

“Leon wants to run with Nyx. Later tonight or tomorrow?”

“I don’t know if I want to run around here, although I don’t think it will be a big deal. What do you think?”

She’s right. Mia, Blanca, Lucas and Dr Higslee know about Thalia’s wolf, but no one else here does. “We can wait until we are back home if it makes you uncomfortable.”

“Okay. I would like that. Were you able to get something set up with Ironclaw?”

“I did. Next weekend, after Kaia’s blood pact ceremony, we will have dinner there. Councilman Edgar will be there. Max hopes Edgar will be able to help me persuade Paul. I asked Isaiah and Kaia to come with us. Kaia will need to start getting trained as the beta female.”

“I get to spend more time with her. I wish Sinclair were also part of the ranked team. Then both of them could be part of the blood pact. I hate that Kaia gets to be in the know, but Sinclair is not.”
