Thalia POV

After Mia showed me her research, I became very excited about the possibilities it could offer us in preparing for the war. Every day, the timer burns through our timeline, and we haven’t figured out the tool yet. We leave tomorrow, and while I’m sad to leave, I am happy I got to spend time with my mother and with Mia. I missed them a lot. Even Rodrigo has been spending a lot of time with mom and Mia.

I still remember that the Moon Goddess said the tool wasn’t in Golden Frost. I also remember Tina’s words. I don’t know what she meant or if it was just a load of lies from her, but I have it in the back of my mind, too.

Aiden and I had a really great evening after dinner. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say he is trying to get me pregnant with the rest of the seven pups we are supposed to have in one pregnancy. I haven’t gone to the doctor yet to find out if I am pregnant, because I already know that Aiden will lose his mind again if I am.

‘Do you think you might be, Mojito?’ Aiden says in our link. Clearly, he is listening to my thoughts again.

I smiled, ‘I don’t know, and I don’t want to find out yet. I want to enjoy my time here.’

‘We are definitely going to the doctor when we get home,’ he growled playfully in our link.

‘You could play doctor, guapo. Maybe I want you to give me a full exam.’

He growled approvingly in the link, and I laughed. ‘Down boy. Let’s finish breakfast.’

‘I’m definitely giving you a full exam later. I intend to be very thorough, Mojito.’

‘Are you ever not?’ I smiled and closed the link.

“Hermana, do you want to come with me to the lab again? I want to show you what I found out. Aiden, you should come too,” Mia said.

“Sure, Mia. Your sister was telling me something about it yesterday. Were the samples helpful?”

Mia smiled widely, “Yes! I’ve documented everything, too. I figured you might want a copy as I’m researching, since you could potentially use it for your pack.”

Aiden’s eyebrows shot up. “Thank you for sharing that information with us, Mia.”

After breakfast, I walked with Mia to the lab to review her findings. Aiden is walking with us and holding my hand. Lucas is also holding Mia’s hand, and we look like happy teenagers going to a football game.

We are laughing and carrying on when the howl of intruders entering the pack puts everyone on high alert.

“Guards, get your Luna to a safe room, NOW!” Lucas screamed out.

I looked at Aiden, “I’m going with her. I will be back.”

“You should stay with her.”

“Damn that. I will be back in a few minutes,” I said, taking off with Mia and the guards.

“Luna, this is the closest safe room. Please, go in quickly,” a guard said.

Mia looks over at me, scared. “Hermana, are you coming?”

“I’m going to fight. It will be quick. Go inside,” I said and took off running. I didn’t get far, though, because I

When I turned around, I saw two rogues trying to drag her off. I snarled, shifted, and let Nyx take over. Those rogues were like mosquitoes, and we crushed them in seconds.

“Mia, climb on my back now,” Nyx ordered.

She nodded nervously and climbed on Nyx’s back, and she took off for the pack house.

When we got there, she told the guards, “Your Luna was almost kidnapped. She is carrying the heir of Crossfang. Get her to a safe room and guard her with your life, or I will take yours!” She growled.

The guards rushed over, grabbed Mia, and dragged her into the house. When we turn around, I see rogues starting to surround the pack house.

‘Aiden, the target is Mia. Get everyone to the pack house now!’ I screamed in our link.

He snarled loudly, and I heard him howl, and he also told Lucas, who roared.

‘We are on our way.’

‘I’ll hold these bastards. I want one kept alive. I want to know why they are targeting my sister!’ I snarled.

‘Nyx…let’s hunt.’

She bared her black fangs, and I swear I could feel her smiling. ‘I’m thirsty. Let’s cut these sons of bitches down!’

She leaped and started going after every rogue she could get to, snapping spines and ripping out throats. She got through half of the rogues by the time Aiden and Lucas showed up with the warriors.

Theard their roars and threw one of the rogues towards Aiden as he shifted and swiped his paw on the rogue’s neck and dislocated his head before he even touched the ground.

Damn, my man is sexy as fuck when he goes all Alpha.

‘Show me later,’ Aiden said. Even now, he is listening to my thoughts and still protecting my sister and me.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see Rodrigo. He is fighting two rogues. He has shifted, and it’s the first time I’ve seen his shadow maw. He isn’t as big as I am, though. One of the rogues is coming up behind him with a silver

knife.

Nyx roars, leaps, and then stands in front of the rogue, growling menacingly. “No one touches my family,” she said darkly.

She jumped on the rogue and had him on his back. She wasted no time and ripped his head off. Rodrigo’s maw looked, and his eyes went wide. I turned to look at the area and saw that Rodrigo had the only rogue left alive.

Nyx jumped and landed behind the rogue, knocking him unconscious. “That bastard stays alive until we question him,” she ordered.

The guards looked at Lucas, and he nodded, “Agreed. I want to know why they were after my mate.” He snarled.

“Are we sure they were after Mia?” Aiden asked.
