Chapter 468

Kaia POV

I’m getting ready for the ceremony. I’m nervous, and I’m excited. Isaiah has been great. He’s been patient with all my questions and pushes calm into our bond whenever I am feeling anxious.

He comes into the room and hugs me from behind. “You look gorgeous, trouble.”

I smirked, “Trying to show the warriors what a prize you have for a mate.”

He growled approvingly and kissed my neck. He loves kissing my mark, and it makes me giggle. It’s a ticklish spot, and he knows it.

“After the ceremony, we are going to Ironclaw for dinner. Aiden wants to start giving you exposure. We will be meeting with the Alpha. We are trying to merge the packs temporarily for the war,” he said.

“What should I expect?”

Isaiah sighed, “Alpha Paul is a pompous asshole. He doesn’t want to merge. The Moon Goddess told Thalia that it needed to happen, though. So Aiden is going to attempt today. There should be a

councilman there. It may serve to help us get that asshole to agree.”

“Has he said why he doesn’t want to merge?”

“Well, he thinks it’s a trap to hold on to Ironclaw. Even though Aiden tried to emphasize it was temporary, and we would have it outlined in the contract.”

“He doesn’t even want to redline a contract and come to an agreement?”

“Nope. Aiden told me that Alpha Paul wanted control of Blackstone, but it can’t work that way because of the war. Plus, there is the blood pact to consider,” Isaiah said.

Everything he just said gave me pause. Talk about greed. “So we are approaching in good faith, and this guy is just being a dick about it and getting greedy?”

Isaiah laughed, “You certainly have a way with words, trouble. Yes, that’s exactly what is happening. My understanding is that Councilman Edgar knows of the prophecy and wants to back us. That’s what Aiden said at least.”

“Do I need to change after the ceremony to something formal?”

He raised an eyebrow to me, “Is my mate trying to look good for another alpha?”

I see where he is going with this. He wants another item to add to the list. I’ll play along.

“A girl should always keep her options open, stickler,” I said with a sly smile.

He growled possessively at me and turned me around, crashing his lips to mine. I whimpered, and he tightened his hold on me. When I thought I might pass out from the lack of oxygen, he pulled back.

His eyes are flashing, and I know Storn is at the surface. “MINE!”

Izo moved forward and purred, “Always.” Then she wrapped her arms around his neck and nibbled on Isaiah’s earlobe before working her way down his neck and sucking on his mark.

Izo certainly knows how to be a hussy when the moment calls for it, and I just sit back and let it happen. Besides, feeling Isaiah’s hands on me, rough and calloused, sends tingling all the way up my spine, and I feel my neck and cheeks go warm.

I see Storn pull back, and Isaiah’s eyes come into view. “Izo, can you give control back to Kaia, beautiful?”

Izo kisses Isaiah quickly, then pulls back, allowing me to step forward. When I do, I smirk at him, and he

smirks back.

“I created a monster with that list,” he smirked.

I sighed and looked at him with a satisfied smile on my face, “You have no one to blame but yourself,

stickler.”

He laughed, then grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the door. “It’s time, let’s get this over with. The sooner we get back, the sooner I can put you over my knee.”

That sent an ache to my core immediately. His spankings are the best.

He smells my arousal and smiles. “Anxious for it now?”

“I have no idea what you are talking about, stickler.”

He chuckled. After a few minutes, we made our way to the training facility, where warriors guarded the borders. In the distance, I see Sinclair. She waves to me, smiling, but part of me wants to bring her and tell her to agree to become a warrior. I just know that isn’t her style, though. She is the kind of woman who dismantles, not disfigures.

We enter the facility, and all the warriors are there waiting. They turn, and they all smile. I guess they are ready to welcome me into their group. Aiden, Thalia, Jonah, Nala, Rebel, and Austin are all there waiting. I really need to make time to get to know Nala. I hardly ever see her around. 1

One of the warriors smiles and teases me, “Who knew we would have welcomed trouble in our mists?”

I laughed, “There is much trouble to be had. Or fun…depending on how you look at it,” I replied with a

wink.

Isaiah chuckled and whispered, “Flirting with the warriors in front of me, trouble. You keep adding to that list…,” he said.

Once on the stage in front of the warriors, Aiden begins the ritual, and I accept becoming part of the ranked member team and the blood pact. I swore to keep everything confidential and to honor the pack, the Alpha, and the Luna. Once I completed the blood pact, I felt the air shift around me. It felt light but full of energy.

I could see particles dancing everywhere in my vision. I blinked and looked around. I see different colors radiating from everyone in the room, and then I feel their energy.

“How weird,” I said to no one in particular.

“What’s weird, trouble?” Isaiah asked.

“I’m not sure what is happening, but I see color around everyone, and I understand what that color means and how they are feeling. I even see their health based on that color,” I said.

Rebel came up to me and hugged me, “You can read and feel auras. What a unique gift.”

I looked at Rebel, “That’s what is happening? I guess Isaiah can’t lie to me about his feelings anymore.”
