His plump mate (Rebel and Austin) by Buchanan novel Chapter 479

Chapter 479

Isaiah POV

Sinclair found her mom. That’s something. It took her a while, but she did it. She is truly capable. I think whoever she ends up being mated to will definitely be lucky to have her. Kaia and I walked back down and updated Aiden and Thalia on Sinclair.

“Now she is scared?” Aiden asked.

Thalia speaks up, “I get it. Her life has been shit. Now that she has finally found her mother, she is afraid of how much shittier her life could get. She wants to be wanted, and she is afraid she won’t be.”

I guess I hadn’t thought of it like that either. I can’t imagine how much it would suck to exist and no one wants you. I mean, the pack wants her. She is respected here. It’s not the same as that personal connection, though. Like what Aiden and Thalia have, or what Kaia and I have. It’s different when it’s parents and kids, too.

“Let’s get going. We need to finish the handover to Isaiah and then get things transitioned to his authority afterward,” Aiden said.

We get in the SUV and ride to the council office. On our way, we start talking about the pregnancy. We told Aiden and Thalia that we are having a large boy, and Thalia’s eyes widened.

“Girl, how are you going to push a pup that big out?”

Kaia shook her head, “I have no idea. It’s a bit terrifying, if I’m being honest.”

Aiden smirked at me, “Show off.”

I laughed, “I don’t know why you are complaining. Aren’t you and Thalia having the most between all your siblings?”

Aiden looks at Thalia, and she narrowed her eyes, “Don’t you even think about it! I do not want a large pup! Normal-sized pups are enough!”

Kaia and I start laughing, and Aiden smirks at Thalia, clearly proud of himself for shocking Thalia. I will say that is not a small feat. She is terrifying on her own.

We finally reach the council, and Alpha Max is waiting there, along with Councilman Edgar. Aiden and I step out first, then help our mates out of the SUV.

“Alpha Aiden. Alpha Isaiah. Welcome to the council,” Councilman Edgar says and then greets Thalia and

Kaia.

We all walked into the conference room, since there were six of us and Edgar’s office was too small. Once seated, we went over all the paperwork. As I’m reading the transfer documents, Kaia asked Alpha Max, “How is Paul doing?”

Max’s eyes softened, “He is recovering slowly. He is restrained with silver cuffs, so healing will take

longer.”

“I never understood his behavior, you know. It’s always bothered me,” Kaia said.

“I think there were a lot of misunderstandings. I went to talk to Paul afterward. I think your father played both of us, and I think he had inside help within Ironclaw.”

I looked up, “Inside help?”

“Yes. We don’t know who would help your father, Kaia,” Max said.

“Was he aware of our kind?”

“Not to my knowledge. It makes everything more confusing. All I can say is that my son resented me because of the prenup. However, the prenup you both signed was not the one I agreed to with your father. Yet, someone within the pack sent him an email with a different document.” Max said.

My head is reeling. Kaia spoke to her father. He knew the terms of the prenuptial agreement well. He never let on that it was not the original agreed-upon document. He knew he swapped it out.

Kaia is thinking the same as me, and we look at each other, understanding that something isn’t right. Kaia’s father then said he was trying to get the fifteen percent for her. None of it makes sense.

“Alpha Max,” I said, “Perhaps after we are done here, you, me, and Kaia can all have a conversation about this in more detail. There are some things you should know.”

He nodded his head, and we finalized the transfer of Ironclaw to my name. The entire time I am looking at the paperwork, reading line by line, and thinking about what Alpha Max said. I feel it in the mate bond that Kaia is wondering what is going on, too. We are not ones to overcomplicate things, but it seems like her father spun some web. Now we need to unravel it. What’s worse is knowing that I’m taking over a pack, and I already know we have a mole that I’m now going to need to flush out. Once we were done finalizing the paperwork, Councilman Edgar presented the access codes and security information to me. I looked down at the folder, and reality started to set in as I looked at the documents.

I’m the new Alpha of Ironclaw.
