Chapter 486

Austin POV

My phone rang, and I saw it was Isaiah video calling me. I answered the call, “Hey, son. How is everything at Ironclaw?”

“Hey, Dad. Is Mom there with you? I want to talk to both of you.”

I raised an eyebrow, but looked over at Rebel. Ever since we stepped down from running the pack, we have settled in a little cottage on the pack lands. We are still highly respected, and we usually try to have at least one meal a day at the dining hall in the pack house to stay close to our kids. But on nights like tonight, we wanted to stay in, so Rebel is whipping us up some food.

“Darlin’, Isaiah is on the phone and wants to talk to both of us.”

Rebel looks at me and smiles excitedly. Man, after all these years, she still takes my breath away when she smiles. She walks over to me and sits on my lap.

“Hello, my son,” Rebel says as she looks at Isaiah.

“Hey, Mom. Okay, first, Dad… this place is so messed up. No lead warrior. Alpha Paul treated the pack house like a frat house and brothel in one. The omegas here were terrified of the Gamma, who tried to challenge my authority. He’s been stripped of his title and thrown in the dungeon until I can decide what to do with him, but that’s not why I’m calling.”

I chuckled, “That’s a mouthful. Glad to see you are already evaluating the pack. Why are you calling then? Did something happen?”

He sighed, “Yeah, Blackstone is painted in a very bad light here. The omegas were terrified. Kaia did great, Mom. You’d be proud. Anyway, the omegas heard a lot about you, Mom. They have always wanted to talk to you, since you were originally from Ironclaw. Plus, I want the Alpha and Luna ceremonies to be done ASAP. Do you guys think you could help?”

Rebel jumped up, “Of course! We can be there tomorrow, right, my love?”

I smiled at Rebel. She knows I will never deny her anything, “Anything for you, darlin’.”

Isaiah smiled, “Great! Do you think Adrian and Amber could come too? I could use another trained rank member here to help me evaluate the warriors and their training.”

“Have you spoken about the blood pact yet?” I asked.

He became serious, “No, Dad. Not yet. We have a mole here. I need to flush the person out. Plus, I need to see about the tech here. Hey…do you think you can get Sinclair to come?”

Rebel answers, “I will get with her shortly and let you know. I will check with Adrian and Amber, too.”

“Thanks, Mom.”

“Son, do you want help going over the pack’s finances and the pack’s land borders?”

“Please. I think this pack is left far too wide open.”

“Have you met the beta yet?”

‘No. I think he understands that you need to stay put for now since you don’t have a beta now. He wanted. to see if Adrian, Amber, and Sinclair could come. Then he wants your mother to help get the Alpha and Luna Ceremonies done.’

‘No fucking way I’m missing that!’

‘I don’t think you have to worry about that, Aiden. He needs help with a lot of stuff, though.”

‘Adrian and Amber said they will go with you tomorrow. I’m asking Sinclair to accompany you as well.’

‘Great. We will let Isaiah know.’

We closed the mind-link, and I looked at Rebel, who narrowed her eyes at me. “I told Isaiah I would check in with Adrian, Amber, and Sinclair. You already did, didn’t you?”

I smiled. She’s pouting, and I always find it adorable when she does. “How about you let Isaiah know we are all coming. Then he will think you did it, darlin’?”

She shook her head in disbelief. “Smug Alpha.”

“I prefer, efficient Alpha.”

“You can be efficient with the dishes while I call your son back, then, Mr. Efficient.”

I laughed and kissed her until I knew she was dazed and let go. “Anything for you, darlin’.”
