Austin POV

My mate is impressive. She not only fights, but she is strategic in her attack and she assesses in real time an opponents weakness. I see that her father taught her well, but some things cannot be taught. Rebel has more talents and gifts than she recognizes in herself.

I’m looking forward to sparring with her. I have every intention of making her tap out. I want her tied to our bedt. I want to hear her moans, whimpers and screams tonight. I am going to make sure she can’t walk straight in the morning. Especially, after she teased me in the dining hall this morning and said she barely felt me. I know she was teasing, but I need to teach my little minx not to poke the Alpha. I will have fun doing it too.

I notice she purposefully doesn’t give away her position when we go for our stance. She assesses but doesn’t take an offensive or defensive position. She stands there lazily. It’s interesting and different. Smart to say the least. You never know how your enemy will respond to you if you don’t show them.

Renz decides to watch and call the match. My warriors are watching us, watching me. I definitely don’t intend to let my mate take me down. I decide on quick and full force of my weight on my mate. She is small and quick but if I pin her down quickly, she won’t be able to move.

I move in, but to my surprise, she anticipated my action and quickly moves out of the way. I smile, because I know she is going to make me work for my prize tonight. I move again, this time, I fake a left to right and grab her by her waist.

Again, my little fighting mate surprises me. She swings her body and her legs are around my neck, and before I know it, she swings her body down and flips me to the ground before getting off of me. Renz is laughing, “Yeah Rebel! Take him down! I knew I should have taken bets!”

I growl at Renz. The bastard smiles at me. “You should tap out now Alpha.” He says, egging me on some more.

“Give him a break Renz.” My mate says, “I’m sure he’s warming up, aren’t you babe?” She smirks.

I smirk at my mate. “I’m just observing your weaknesses my darling.”

This time I am slow in my approach. My size and weight will overpower her if she slips or gets tired. I remember how I had her pinned to the mattress, and it gives me an idea. I grin a really devilish grin at my mate.

‘Have you figured it out yet babe?‘ she mind links me.

‘You know I’m going to have fun tonight with you, right?‘ I reply and she grins even wider.

I charge at her and she moves to the side, but I cut over quickly and block her with my arm. I pull her back to my chest and sweep her to the ground. I land but not fully on top of her, so I don’t crush her. My knees bent so I am leaning on her shoulders with my shoulders. She smiles and then sees she can’t move, she taps out and I grin in her neck. “Looks like I win little mate.”

She smiles, “I like what you have in mind for tonight, so I let you win, my Alpha.”

“Uh, huh. Okay, then show me how you would get out of this position darling.” I said cockily.

“Gladly.” She says and with a speedy precision, she kicks one of my bent knees out, twists her body and turns me on my back with her hand on my neck.
