His plump mate (Rebel and Austin) by Buchanan novel Chapter 530

Aric POV

We finally get to the pack, and we drive directly to the pack hospital. We are both tired, but I know we won’t be able to sleep until we know more about the DNA test. When we get there, we ask to see the doctor and sit in the waiting room.

After a while, the doctor comes out and asks us to join him in his office. “What can I do for you, Beta Aric and Sinclair?”

I didn’t waste any time. “Doc, did the DNA test results specify if we are half-siblings or full-siblings?”

“It does. You have to know what you are looking at, though. Let me pull it up,” he replied.

I saw him pull the test results up on his monitor, and his lips pressed into a thin line.

“What does it say, doctor?” Sinclair asked.

“It says here that you measure at fifteen hundred. This indicates you are half-siblings.”

Half-siblings. Mom did cheat on Dad. I feel unbalanced all of a sudden. I looked at Sinclair, and she looked calm and collected. I, on the other hand, feel completely out of my element. I’ve always been so sure about my mother and my father and their mate bond. Why was Mom unhappy? Why a hunter? Now I have even more questions.

I feel Sinclair reach out for my hand. “Are you okay?”

“I honestly don’t know. I’m stunned. Now I have more questions,” I said.

“I think that is a healthy response to something shocking,” she said and then turned to the doctor, “Thank you for clarifying this information, doctor. Also, one more question: are we related by mother or father?”

“The test doesn’t specifically state that information, Sinclair.”

She nodded and then looked at me. “Our family tree just got a lot more interesting; don’t you think?”

I nodded, still feeling numb.

“Come on, brother, let’s get to the pack house.”

I got up and started making my way to the car. Sinclair drove us to the pack house. I don’t even remember the trip. Is that why she and Iris didn’t get a wolf at eighteen? Because their father is a fucking hunter? Does Sinclair have a hunter’s instincts? I mean, clearly, she does, but does it go deeper? Is it deep-rooted in her desire to eliminate people she deems less? No, I can’t believe that. She let Cherise go. She was willing to turn to a community to belong.
