Aric POV
It’s been a couple of days since Sinclair returned. She, of course, is still at Blackstone. That really is her home. I hate that she is there, while I’m at Ironclaw. I am needed here, though. I spoke to her yesterday and told her I would be coming to see her today.
Isaiah told me to go see her. She wanted to see me anyway. She said she had news as well. I don’t know what it’s about, but of course, I am going to see my sister. After hearing that she took on Ronan, another fucking hunter, and the unfortunate sperm donor responsible for my existence, I have been a nervous wreck.
Niall isn’t ready to hold the pack on his own yet, so I had to wait for Isaiah to return. He told me that Sinclair had to go back to the pack hospital as soon as she arrived because she was dizzy. It turns out that her concussion was really bad and hadn’t fully healed yet. I have been worried about her. I don’t think she should have been left on her own.
I also know she is stubborn, though. She is tough. She isn’t like Iris was. I have to keep telling myself this every time I think she is by herself.
Sure enough, she fought that bastard and even shot him…twice. Now, I’m on my way to see her, and my wolf, Beck, is pacing inside my head.
‘What is going on with you?’
‘No idea. I just feel like I can’t sit still.’
‘Well, try. You’re giving me a headache.’
‘I really can’t help it, Aric,’ he replied.
I shake it off, but the closer we get to Blackstone, the more he paces. I roll down the window to get some air, and it hits me. The scent of watermelons and sugar. It’s a sweet, fruity dessert I have always secretly loved the smell of.
‘MATE! OUR MATE IS HERE, ARIC!’
Fuck! My mate is in Blackstone? I am here to see my sister, and I may be leaving with my mate. Where is she? I have to see her.
I am let through the guard’s gate, and I follow the scent. I get to the pack house, and I jump out of the car, and my nose goes into the air.
Thalia squeals and holds Sinclair’s hand. Aiden is smirking. They know. Hell, I know. Now I just need to find out who. First, I go to greet my sister, but she stops me.
“Uh-uh! Find your mate, brother. I want to know who my sister is,” she said, pure happiness for me on her face.
Aiden steps forward. “I’ll walk with you.”
I nodded, and then I continued walking towards the gardens in the back. A beautiful young woman is there, looking at me. It’s her. She’s my mate. She is beautiful. Long hair, soft curves, and light freckles on her face.
“Mate!” Beck pushed forward and said loudly.
