Rebel POV
I thought I raised men with good values and respect for the Moon Goddess’s will. Clearly, I have failed as a mother. Adrian is treating his mate like a damn outcast. She is family. Whether she bonded with him or not, that girl has done nothing but be family with us. She deserves better.
When dinner was over, I marched up to Adrian, grabbed him by his ear, and dragged him all the way to Aiden’s office. The entire time, he was saying ouch and telling me to let go. Austin and Aiden were waiting for us. I even see Thalia there. Good.
When we are firmly inside the room, I sat his stubborn ass down and hit him upside his head.
“Mom! What the hell?” He said, raising his voice to me.
Austin growled low, but I wasn’t about to let him get in my way. I got in my son’s face.
“What the hell is wrong with you, treating that girl like she doesn’t exist!?”
“What are you talking about? I came to dinner and spent time with everyone. Sinclair included."
"Spent time with her? Did you notice it took twenty minutes for an omega to come back with a plate of food for her? Aiden notices, and she isn’t his mate. He yelled at the omegas through the link to bring the girl some food. Then, to add insult to injury, they brought her a cold plate, and you couldn’t be bothered to notice!” I snarled.
His eyes went wide. “I didn’t notice. I’m sorry.”
Aiden snarled. “You didn’t notice because you are too busy avoiding her, instead of manning up and acknowledging the mate bond properly. Why haven’t you told her to move to the beta floor? She is your mate. That makes her the beta female of the pack, Adrian!”
Thalia then stood in front of him. “Sinclair told me about your so-called apology. She told me you friend-zoned her, Adrian. What the actual fuck is wrong with you!?”
I felt nothing but rage. “YOU DID WHAT?!”
“It’s not like that, everyone. I just asked her if we could take things slow while I heal. When she asked what ‘taking things slow’ looked like, I suggested we get to know each other as friends first and see if things develop.”
“THAT’S FRIEND-ZONING HER, ADRIAN!” Thalia screamed. “YOU DON’T DESERVE HER! SHE IS TOO GOOD FOR YOU!”
