Adrian POV
Everyone is warning me about working with Sinclair. She is always in work mode. I have seen her work before. I saw Kaia and her dismantle the devices that blew up at Blackstone. I have just never personally worked with her on something like this before, but she doesn’t seem demanding.
As we approached the fence, I saw the wary looks on the faces of the warriors as Sinclair approached. She smiles and waves, but they don’t seem happy to see her. They seem almost scared.
“Hey guys! We have a long day ahead. There was a breach in this very spot. We are going to redesign and reconfigure. Shift and dig, guys.”
They groaned, and Sinclair narrowed her eyes. “I know almost every last one of you has a mate, and I’m willing to bet at least half of you have a pup. Now, my brothers, sisters, and my nephew are inside of these fences. I intend for it to be secure to keep them safe, and I intend for your mates and pups to be safe too. Shift and dig, and I will tell you when to stop.”
They sighed. “How long of a line are we digging, Beta Sinclair?”
“Two posts out from this starting point.”
They started stripping, and she tilted her head, looking at all the warriors getting naked. Hell no. She is only going to look at me like that. I grabbed her, turned her towards me, and kissed her deeply in front of the warriors.
I heard them snickering as I caught my mate off guard. I pulled back when all the warriors shifted to their wolves. “Eyes on me, little sin.”
She smirked. “Jealous?”
“You’re mine, little sin. That means those wandering eyes are mine too.”
“Well, you certainly know how to take away what I enjoy most about these jobs.”
I growled low. She is doing this on purpose. She knows she is too. Minx. From behind, I see Aric bringing out a table, chair, and bottle of wine.
“What the hell, Aric? You are encouraging your sister?”
He laughed. “I’m making sure you appreciate her and understand she has all the options in the world, brother-in-law.”
I flipped him off and looked at Sinclair, who was fist-bumping her brother. Isaiah and Kaia came out, and they were immediately laughing. I scowled.
Sinclair shook her head. “I may look, but the only one I want to touch is you, babe. Besides,” she whispered in my ear, “You are so much bigger than any of them.”
Her undertone lets me know there is an intended double meaning, and I smirked at her.
‘Don’t think this gets you out of trouble. I’m putting you over my knee, little sin.’
‘I look forward to it, my bliss.’
She kisses me and then looks at me with a gleam in her eye. “Now strip. You are shifting and digging too, Adrian.”
I raised an eyebrow, but before I could say anything, she looked at Aric and Isaiah, both of you…let’s go. The ground isn’t going to dig itself. Kaia and I will supervise. I still need to finish the reconfigurations.”
“I brought juice for you, Sin,” Kaia said.
“Perfect. Wish it was a mimosa. It’s still brunch time,” she laughed.
