Sinclair POV
After we called Thalia and heard her fury through the phone, we called Roddy and Sheri into Isaiah’s office. We are keeping them under guard until further notice.
At first, we thought about sending them both to Blackstone, but Thalia said no. If they were waiting in the shadows for him to leave Ironclaw, then they would capture him the moment he was far enough away, and it would put him in danger.
Thalia was right, and there was no arguing with her logic. Aiden, of course, was snarling in the background. Anyone who upsets Thalia is asking for death, Aiden style. Of all the brothers, he is the one who is honestly the most insane when it comes to torturing and killing someone. Thalia told me in confidence once that it was a major turn on for her, and given her ruthlessness in killing people, it is clear they are a perfect match.
“Rodrigo,” Isaiah said, “effective immediately, you and Sheri are moving into the Alpha floor in a suite at the end of the hall. There are two bedrooms and enough room for your pup as well. Until we figure out who is behind the trackers.”
Sheri’s hands were shaking. Rodrigo sensed it and pulled her onto his lap, kissing her temple. “It’s okay, vida mia.”
Once Sheri calmed down, Rodrigo looked at Isaiah. “The only one who would be trying to get to me is Julian, Isaiah. He wants me to sign over the ports to him. I am not doing that, though.”
I didn’t fully understand why he wouldn’t give those up, so I asked. Roddy started explaining how Julian wanted to bring in illegal shipments and then said that this is his way of slowing him down with the war. If he signs it over, then he gets what he needs, and he won’t let that happen.
I sat back. “What if we let him have it?” I asked.
Everyone looked at me like I was crazy, except Kaia. She is a strategist like me. She already knows my wheels are turning.
“Are you crazy?”
“Hear me out. He doesn’t get ownership. He gets access. I can hack into his system undetected. I can pull everything he brings in, and build the case against him. I can dismantle everything as well.”
Kaia then spoke, “I love the idea, Sin, except there is one problem and you know what it is, girlie.”
Adrian looked at me. “What’s the problem?”
“In order to dismantle the system, I need to be on the inside,” I told him.
Adrian, Isaiah, Aric, and Rodrigo all said in unison, “NO!”
“If I’m tipping scales, then I need to be in the room with the scales, guys.”
Adrian pulled me on his lap forcefully, surprising me. “You are pregnant with our pups. You are not going through with this crazy idea!”
