Adrian POV
My little sin is about to put herself in the line of fire…again. She is either really brave or really stupid to walk into the lion’s den. It sounds unbelievable, but one thing she said, and I can’t argue with, is that we have been reactive almost the entire time. If we want the tables to turn, we need to be the ones leading the attack.
“What elder?” I asked.
Isaiah explained Heath and Tina. He explained how Heath stole the patents, and then the packs that held the patents were wiped off the registry completely. That would mean an elder is involved.
“I have been doing my best to dig into the elders, Sin. I honestly could use some help though. No one is better at hacking than you are. It took me four weeks and a bunch of feelers to locate you. You know full well it would have taken you three days…tops,” Kaia said, praising Sinclair.
“After this meeting, let’s make the adjustment to the glove and then show me what you have been able to figure out with the elder. Also,” she said, looking at Isaiah, “The research is under lock and key with my encryption equipment. I don’t trust anyone in this pack, outside of this room, with the information.”
“Agreed. Though I amend Poppy and Niall to the list, even though they are not here,” Isaiah said.
“Agreed.”
Sinclair and Kaia then got up and said they were heading to the lab. Roddy left with Sheri to get her settled in the guest suite on the Alpha floor. Aric said he needed to run patrols, and that left just Isaiah and me.
“Your mate is incredibly stubborn,” Isaiah told me.
I scoffed. “Yours is no better.”
“You know we are going to have our own backup plan to run alongside theirs, right?”
“Why do you think I’m still sitting here, brother?” I asked with a smirk.
“Good. If I get my ass chewed out by Kaia, you will get yours chewed out by Sinclair. That I would love to see too, by the way,” Isaiah chuckled.
I gave him a deadpan look. “You think it would be any less entertaining watching Kaia rip you a new one, bro?”
We both started laughing and then started discussing the plan to have a parallel security measure in place for Sinclair. She cannot be left alone there, and she is going to need an escape route.
“You need to establish a safe word or phrase. Something only the two of you would know. So if we need to intervene, she knows you sent someone to help.”
“I’ll make her choose one tonight,” I smirked.
Isaiah laughed. “Yeah, that should be fun.”
I chuckled, and then we got back to talking about our plan. “I don’t think we can go much further without knowing Sinclair’s plan, Isaiah. I don’t want anyone knowing about this except for us, though.”
“Agreed. I don’t think Aric should be involved. If Ronan shows up, it could make things worse for Sinclair.”
“Ronan is mine to kill,” I growled low. “He has taken enough from our families and me.”
“He’s all yours.”
“Hey, what ever happened with Kaia’s father?” I asked.
Isaiah’s eyes darkened. “He’s rotting in prison. We got all the evidence of the set-up, his attempts on Kaia’s life, and the fraud and gave it to the district attorney. He’s not getting out.”
