She should have been raised with love and she should have been educated and giving the opportunity to socialize with pups her age when she was a pup herself. Every time I think about how much she has missed out on in her life because of her fucking family, it infuriates me.

I lead her to the dining hall. Dinner is just starting and we sit down. The omegas start serving out plates of food and I notice that Rebel’s plate looks different from mine. She has a larger portion of protein and some green vegetables along with a baked potato with sour cream and chives. The omega serving said that they received orders from Dr. Hadley about their Luna’s diet and made the adjustments quickly. As Rebel thanks them she turns to me and smiles. “I don’t hate this, it looks really good. When we build the smokers for the Luna Ceremony, I will ask the omegas to take charge of deciding what sides and other dishes can go with the meal that will stay in line with what Dr. Hadley wants me to do.” She says thoughtfully.

Just then Renz and Lacy show up. This time my Gamma Jessup and his mate, Jane accompanied them. “Alpha, Luna. We were looking for you guys today. Where did you all run off to?” Renz asked, “By the way, Luna, I don’t think you met Jessup or Jane. They are our Gamma couple.” He added.

Rebel spoke up, “It’s very nice to meet you both.” Then she looked at Renz and Lacy, “Austin thought I should go see Dr. Hadley at the pack hospital today for a checkup.”

All four of them looked to me for an explanation. “Jessup and Jane, you don’t know Rebel’s story. Without going over all the details, your Luna was abused in many different ways in Ironclaw before I found her in the woods earlier this week and realized she was my mate.” I stated clearly before continuing, “Until today, Rebel has never seen a doctor. We wanted to get her a physical. We were there for a very long time. As you can imagine, with no medical history, one needed to be established.” I finished.

“Alpha, seriously, that is the vaguest response. You said a lot and nothing at all.” Lacy said. Then she looked at my mate. “Luna, is everything okay? What happened?”

I mind linked my betas, gammas and my mate to keep the conversation private. ‘Your Luna has a condition that is a result of malnourishment. It’s been better since being here, however, her blood work showed she is deficient in several things. Dr. Hadley put her on a special diet to help with her nutrition.‘

I see Lacy and Jane in particular look at their Luna with concern. Lacy is the first to respond, ‘I feel like you ar leaving a lot out Alpha. Is that all?‘

Jane chimed in, ‘I agree. You were there all afternoon. Bloodwork and a physical wouldn’t take that long. What else do we need to be aware of Alpha and Luna?‘

I can see Renz and Jessup looking at me too. I sigh and mind link Rebel privately, ‘Do you want them to know?‘

She responds, ‘Yes, they are our ranked members and if something happens, I guess if they are around and know what’s going on, they will understand the level of severity. I mean, after the ceremony, I have to get bones reset babe.‘
