My mind is reeling at learning that Candy is fucking Ronan. If she gets pregnant, then I will feel sorry for the child. I am also glad Chad and Conrad are locked up. Fuck those two.

Now he’s asking me about Blackstone. I immediately changed my demeanor. I sighed deeply, like I was tired. “Yeah. They didn’t believe me. Then they turned on me.”

“You cut ties, though?”

“Yes, and I rejected my mate. I cut ties with everyone. Everyone turns their back on me eventually.”

“I value loyalty,” Julian said.

“I value cash. I’m loyal to everyone, and I have yet to meet a person who says it and means it. Vic and Nate said you are a solid alpha. I need a job that pays.”

He tilted his head and raised an eyebrow. “Why are you in need of cash?”

“That’s my business, Julian. I’ve had enough of being in ‘crowds’ and being stabbed in the back. So forgive me for not explaining my reasons.”

He smirked. “At least you are honest,” he said.

“That always seems to shock people.”

“Well, I would like to offer you a position in my pack. I need another tech lead. Angelo, my current lead is awesome, but your skills surpass his.”

“And my pay?” I asked. I’m pushing for him to tell me. Give me the opening, and then I exploit everything.

“I am having cash flow issues at the moment. I can give you fifty grand upfront. After that, I will need your help.”

“Cash flow issues?” I questioned.

“I have an enemy. I don’t know who it is, but Angelo figured out who the threat is. I just can’t pin down his location.”

“That doesn’t answer my cash flow question.”

“He is the reason for the cash flow issues, Sinclair. He found my offshore accounts, depleted them, and closed them. Did everything legally, but none of it was legal. The banks can’t do anything either. The man goes by Condor,” Julian explained.

“Condor?”

“Yes.”

I sat back. Angelo couldn’t have found Condor, because it was me. He gave me a diversion, though, and I can work with that. I might have an ally in Angelo. Or maybe Angelo figured out it was me and they set a trap for me. It means I’d have to set a trap for them, if that’s the case. I need to meet Angelo and feel him out first.

“I might be able to help.”

“Also, I could use some help with Ironclaw,” Julian said.
