Sinclair POV
For the last four days, everyone has been doing their part to get everything ready for Julian’s arrival. The men have installed the sensors. The ladies have been making bombs.
There has been so much work that my body has been worn out since last night. Adrian has sensed it, and only holds me as I sleep. I feel like it’s a mental exhaustion more than a physical exhaustion, though, and it’s just taking its toll on me.
The last two nights I have had a fleeting dream. It has felt important, but I can’t remember it. When I wake up, I feel like there is something I’m missing, but I don’t know what it is. It’s bothering me, too.
“What are you thinking about, Little Sin?”
I snapped back into the present with Adrian. We are sitting in the dining hall eating a late lunch. We all have been taking shifts. Mom threw a hell of a party last night. She made some amazing pork butts, legs of lamb, and picanha.
After everyone was done eating, Aiden told the pack about the upcoming war. He told anyone who wasn't a warrior that they could leave to visit family or stay at Blue Moon until the war was over. Several mates of the warriors wanted to stay, but the warriors all told their mates to either go to their family’s pack or to Blue Moon, as Aiden suggested—especially those with pups.
There were a lot of tears. Thalia couldn’t help but cry. Mom and Dad were also concerned. They knew we all had to stay, and we all have pups.
“I was just thinking about the pack members. How many are leaving or staying? If they are staying, are we going to be able to keep them safe?”
“My future Luna is definitely putting everyone else first,” he said with a gentle smile.
“I’m serious, Adrian. I’m worried about everyone that is going to be caught in the crossfire.”
“We are forcing Julian and his brood of bandits to Blackclaw territory, Little Sin.”
When Adrian said that, my dreams started flooding my mind again. We are forcing him into Blackclaw territory. Are we, though?
“That’s it,” I said, as the dim bulb that had been lingering for the last couple of nights finally lit up.
“What is it?” Adrian asked.
“We need to regroup with everyone, Adrian. Now,” I said. As soon as the dreams flooded back, I got up and started towards our room. I needed my laptop.
Adrian is following behind me. I called out behind me. “We need to meet in Aiden’s office. I’ll be right there."
I went to our room, pulled out my laptop, and fired it up. I patched myself into Julian’s security system. I went into stealth mode through a back-door system. I opened the surveillance, and I saw it. Candy is going in with Ronan. They are at the pack house. Candy is carrying a circular canister. The kind that carries blueprints.
I know what this means. I need to warn everyone. I need to break away from the project, and I need Angelo and the tech warriors.
I raced to Aiden’s office, and everyone is there waiting for me. Everyone is confused, so I don’t waste time. I start explaining.
“Everyone, for the last couple of nights, I have had a fleeting dream. I couldn’t remember it. While I was eating with Adrian, he remarked that we were forcing Julian into Blackclaw territory. That’s when my dream surfaced. It wasn’t a dream, though. It was the memory of Candy getting into Blackstone undetected and entering the pack house.”
Aiden growled. “Are you saying they are going to attempt that again?”
