His plump mate (Rebel and Austin) by Buchanan novel Chapter 695

Adrian POV

We finally finished the sensors, and we have been installing the bombs. By ‘we’, I mean the guys. Then the women have made more than enough bombs. Sinclair and Jonah got heat signatures from everyone. Now we are working on the opposite side of the borders. It’s been a grueling week. Sinclair has changed a lot of formations and tightened up the weak spots in the borders.

“Candy got through because of those weak spots. Otherwise, she would have never gotten to my room,” Sinclair told me.

“I know, Little Sin. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the borders this secured. It’s more than any other pack has, that’s for sure.”

Just as Sinclair was about to respond, Mom spoke up from behind. “That’s because your mate is brilliant, Adrian. I’m glad you didn’t mess things up with Sinclair.”

I groaned. “Mom, do you have to bring that up? Sinclair and I are way past that, right, babe?”

Sinclair started looking away like she hadn’t heard me. I narrowed my eyes at her, and she started giggling. She knows that sound does things to me.

‘List, Little Sin,’ I said via the mind link, and that only made her giggle in the mind link, too.

“Mom, what brings you here?” Sinclair asked.

Mom held out a gift box. It’s large and flat. “I told you I would bring it back.”

Sinclair looked confused. She took the box and sat down. She opened it slowly as I sat beside her. She unfolded the tissue, and then her eyes started watering.

“My dress,” she said through her tears. “You fixed it?”

She looked at Mom, gratitude and disbelief on her face. Mom is smiling at Sinclair. She takes Sinclair’s hands in hers and pats them.

“It took forever, but I finished it last night. Each thread, and each section, has been repaired. Unless you are looking for the tears, you won't see them.”

Sinclair pulled the dress from the box and stood up. I looked at her holding up the dress, and I didn’t see any of the damage.

“Mom, you did a fantastic job with this. Thank you,” I said as I got up to hug her.

Sinclair hugged Mom like she wouldn’t let go. “Thank you so much, Mom.”

Mom chuckled and hugged Sinclair. “Dear girl, this dress is a reflection of you. It started whole, went through hardship, and with love and care, was made whole again. Even if you never wear this dress again, it’s a symbol of you. That is something no one can take.”

Sinclair has fat tears rolling down her cheeks as she hugs Mom again. But my mother’s words stick with me. When we have our pack, and she has her Luna Ceremony, that is what I want people to understand about her.

Sinclair has been through a lot in her life, but now she is made whole again because of how well she is loved. Anyone who is coming to our pack will be looking to be made whole again. That will take time, patience, and above all, love.

It’s amazing how one sentence can set the outlook on one’s future. I want our pups to understand that in the future, too. Their mother didn’t come from simple beginnings. She came from a hard-fought life and never gave up.

“Adrian?” Sinclair called, and my mind refocused on her.

“Yes, Little Sin?” I said with a playful tone.
