They walk off and I leave them be so they can bond. I will have plenty of time to talk and bond with them later. The patrols just mentioned that Councilman Elias has arrived. I go back outside to greet him.

“Councilman Elias, welcome.” I say, shaking his hand.

“Alpha Austin, congratulations on finding your fated mate and Luna. The council is very happy for you.”

“Thank you, sir. My mate just went upstairs with her grandparents and my mother. I will introduce them to you soon. However, I will want her grandfather and my beta to be present when we speak. Elias’s expression became serious, “This involves more than two packs?”

“Yes, sir. Plus, there is also a witch involved.” I added. I forgot about that piece of information until right now when it crash landed back into my memory.

Elias growls, “Very well, I will want to have this meeting sooner, rather than later.”

I lead the councilman to my office and after about an hour of small talk, I let Renz know he’s here. I also mind link Rebel letting her know the councilman is here as well and that her grandfather will want to be a part of this

conversation.

After a few minutes, there is a knock on the door. Renz moves to open the door and lets everyone in my office. I make formal introductions and then I begin, “Councilman Elias, I understand your territory is the southwestern region. However, I have reason to believe that the councilmen of the Northeastern region have compromised and therefore I do not trust them to take this matter seriously.”

“Compromised how?” Elias asked.

Now everyone is growling, so I continue, “Based on the information my beta found, Alpha Kaden is into some really sketchy business. Every time he faces the council though, all the charges are dropped. Every. Single. Time. Nothing sticks.”

Elias is looking over the file, “I see.”

Rebel then speaks up, “Councilman, I find it strange that all of these circumstances are sketchy at best and downright criminal at worst. The only thing that makes sense, is if the councilmen in that region are compromised. If that is the case, then we cannot rely on them to be impartial, fair or just.”
