Chapter 13-1

After watching Effie trying to deny that she was my girl, I was extremely pissed off and ready to bend her over my knee. She knew that she was pissing me off, but yet she just kept pushing my buttons by denying who she is. And when she had the other girl come over to ring me up, I really got pissed off.

I had watched her head to the back to the kitchen and disappear. The girl that came to ring me up had tried to flirt with me, but I ignored her. I ordered a black coffee and a couple slices of each of a few different cheesecakes. Plus, I got the donuts that my mom seemed to like. She was making dinner tonight, and I told her that I would bring dessert. I wanted an excuse to see and talk to my girl. Fat lot of good that fucking did me, though.

When the girl finally got my coffee and desserts together, I paid for my stuff and then left after I had it all. My guard and best friend was driving the SUV today. He knew how much I loved Effie and was pissed that she managed to get away from the guard that he put on her. He thought that his guys were slacking on the job until we figured out how she got away. I have to give her credit, though; she was slick. No one even knew that the tunnels in that house existed. And she used that to her advantage and used them to

escape.

From what we could tell, she had known that the tunnel was in her room for a long time. She had a plan in place in case she needed it. There was lots of dust in the tunnel, and you could see where a bag had been sitting. When we made it to the other side of the tunnel, we could see where a car had been hidden. But that is where we lost her. We couldn’t find any cars at the airport that had been there for a while. And my IT guys hadn’t been able to find anything on any cameras. They had all been wiped clean.

I know that her dad works for a company that deals in computers and IT. But he said that he didn’t have anything to do with her disappearance. He didn’t even know how she cleared the cameras so that we couldn’t find her. But that she must have done it herself. She was really smart and good with computers.

Apparently, she was already in college when she was moved over here. It was all done online. And she was so smart that she was able to learn Russian. So she always knew what everyone was talking about around her. And that means that she knows everything that her mother and stepdad were always talking about. So she may know everything that they had planned.

If it wasn’t for my mom and sister finding the bakery for Rivers‘ wedding, then I may never have found where my Effie girl has been hiding. At first, Mom wasn’t sure if it was really Effie, because the name was different and so wasn’t the hair and eyes. But I know that it’s my girl.

I went back a few times over the next week, trying to catch her and get her to talk to me again. But every time she was working in the back and the girl working the counter would try to flirt with me. Even after I told her that I was taken and my girl would get pissed over someone trying to pick me up. She still kept trying, so I just ignored her. I would get my coffee and pastries and leave and hope to catch her the next time that I came in.
