Chapter 9-1
Leandro
I have been in Russia with my brothers for a couple of weeks now. We had a problem at one of our
businesses come up, and we came to deal with it.
My dad has turned most of the work over to me and focuses on spending most of his time with my sister
and her son. I understand why he does, after all, he went twenty years not being able to be around her. Not knowing for sure if she was a girl or boy after being lied to. So now that he knows about her, he wants to
spend time with her.
Hell, we all do and usually spend more time in America than we do in Russia, but when work calls, we
gotta go.
And when we got the call about a problem this time, my brothers and I told Dad that we’d take care of it. I want him to know that we can handle things without him so that he’ll finally retire and hand the reins over. Then, he will be able to spend all of the time that he wants with my sister and her son and eventually any other kids that she ends up having. He really loves being a grandfather and wants a lot more grandkids. I let him know that he should only expect them from my brothers and sister. Because unless I find the love of my life, I don’t plan to ever settle down and have kids.
My heart belongs to one girl and one girl only, my Effie girl.
We had just finished dealing with our problem in Russia and getting it straightened out when I got a text from Dad. I let him know that the problem was handled and we were on our way back. My brothers and I
just needed to go to the house and pack our stuff up.
As we were heading to the house, I called my pilot and told him to get the jet ready. Since I didn’t know how long we would be gone, my brothers would pilot us.
It’s not the first time that they would fly us, and I know it won’t be the last time, either. They have flown many times, and since our pilot had a pregnant wife at home, I knew that he couldn’t be away for long. So he would make sure that the checks were done and that we were good to go. He would also make sure that they are registered as the ones flying the jet.
So, after we got home and packed up, we made sure that the house was locked up and then took off. It seemed like it took forever before we finally made it to Texas. It was a twelve–hour flight, and about halfway through it, I found out that my sister had been kidnapped. I hated that she was kidnapped and was
hoping and praying that she was ok.
I had been really happy about heading back to Texas. Mom told me that she saw a girl who looked like my Effie girl.
Mom and River were checking out a bakery that River wanted to use for the wedding. When one of the girls came from the back to restock, the pastry’s mom said that she looked so much like Effie in her face. But the girl had blue eyes and rainbow–colored hair. Mom found out that her name was also Rose.
