How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 165

Winifred’s resignation was quickly approved.

Without lingering or telling anyone, she packed her bags and soon flew to Riverside City.

Everything in Portside went smoothly—the interview, the trial period, signing the contract.

Soon, Winifred was settled in Riverside City.

Only then did she tell Queena that she had moved to Riverside City for work.

Queena was angry, but there was nothing she could do.

Riverside City was a completely different world from Zion. People came here from all walks of life, blending seamlessly with the locals.

People here didn't care much for appearances. The wealthy didn't drive outrageously expensive cars, wear custom designer brands, or sport million-dollar watches.

Walking down the street, you couldn't even tell who was rich and who was poor.

A truly wealthy person might be wearing baggy shorts and flip-flops, eating a simple hot dog from a well-known street cart, or grabbing a coffee.

People here didn't judge you based on where you came from. They only cared about what kind of person you were.

Winifred liked Riverside City.

She rented an apartment in a relatively new complex, just a few hundred yards from the hospital, a walk of only ten minutes or so.

She brought the painting with her but didn't hang it on the wall.

After finally laying everything bare with Yvan and releasing all the grief and pain she had held inside, Winifred felt a sense of release.

Some things had to be let go. She couldn't carry that pain for the rest of her life.

As for Yvan, she had decided to forget him for good.

But one night, she dreamed of him.

About a month later, there was a long holiday weekend. Winifred arranged for three days off and went back to Oakwood City to visit her grandmother’s grave. She also brought the painting and the ultrasound scan with her.

She planned to bury everything related to Yvan in her old hometown.

After buying some flowers, Winifred arrived at her grandmother’s grave and was surprised to find that someone had tended to it.

The weeds had been cleared, and there was a fresh bouquet of flowers placed before the headstone. It was clear this had been done in the last couple of days.

Her grandmother had no close relatives left here. Queena hadn't come back this time; she had called Winifred just two days ago to remind her to visit the grave.

So who could have done this?

Winifred couldn't figure it out and didn't dwell on it. Perhaps a distant relative had seen the grave and tidied it up out of kindness.
