How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 203

For the first time, Winifred met someone on a blind date who seemed relatively normal. They had a good impression of each other, and the conversation was pleasant.

Out of courtesy, the man walked Winifred home, and they even agreed to meet again after work the next day.

Unexpectedly, just as she was leaving work the next day, Winifred received a call from Yvan.

"Winifred, are you off work?"

Winifred's tone was cold. "What do you want?"

"I need to talk to you about something."

"If you have something to say, say it on the phone. I have plans."

There was a pause on the other end. Then Yvan asked, "Are you going on a date with that guy from your blind date?"

Winifred was stunned, then immediately wary. "How did you know I went on a blind date?"

Yvan replied, "How I know isn't important. Winifred, listen to me. That guy is bad news. You shouldn't see him again."

Winifred was so angry she laughed. "Yvan, what's your problem? You say you want me to be happy, but you keep interfering with my relationships. What, are you the only good man in the entire world?"

Yvan frowned. "Winifred, that's not what I meant. He's obsessed with the stock market and once lost hundreds of thousands."

Of course, there were times he won, but there was no need to mention that. The point was, he lost more than he gained, which meant he wasn't very bright.

Winifred sneered, "Plenty of people play the stock market. It's normal to win some and lose some."

"But what if he keeps losing? If you marry him, can you handle him losing hundreds of thousands at a time?" Yvan argued. "You're both ordinary people. That kind of money is no small amount for you."

She didn't believe for a second that Yvan would actually introduce men to her. It was just an excuse to placate her.

But a few days later, Yvan actually knocked on her door and handed her a stack of files. "These are a few candidates I've selected. See if there's anyone you like."

Winifred was surprised he had actually followed through. She had no choice but to pick up the files and glance through them. They were all Harvard graduates, top experts in their fields, professors—the cream of the crop in their respective industries, and all quite handsome.

Winifred looked at Yvan. Perhaps because of his back injury, he seemed to have lost a lot of weight and looked haggard, a stark contrast to his former confident self.

She forced herself to look away, steeling her heart against any sympathy, and feigned a cold snort. "Have you ever considered that men this successful wouldn't be interested in someone like me?"

Yvan said, "Don't worry. No matter how successful they are, they wouldn't dare look down on you, not with my backing."

"So you're my sponsor now," Winifred sneered, tossing the files back at him. "Thanks, but no thanks. These guys are all too old. Fatherly love is one thing. Marrying someone like my father is another — and that’s not my plan."
