How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 237

"Ms. Spencer, your relatives are here insisting the apartment is theirs, and they're harassing the tenant. We've tried talking to them, but it's no use. What should we do?"

The property manager sounded helpless.

It turned out Fiona and Darren, worried about what Winifred might do with the apartment, had gone to check on it the next day.

The tenant saw them and casually mentioned Winifred, telling them he wouldn't be paying them next month's rent and that they needed to return his security deposit because he was moving out.

Fiona and Darren flew into a rage and started arguing with the tenant.

The tenant had no choice but to call the manager.

The manager showed them a copy of the new deed and other proof of ownership and asked them to leave, but Fiona started acting shamelessly, insisting her son Joseph had given her the apartment and threatening to sue the management. The situation was getting out of hand.

Seeing that Fiona was elderly, the property manager was afraid she might have a medical emergency and didn't dare to use force. He had no choice but to call Winifred for instructions.

Yvan, who had been listening beside her, took the phone. "Then call the police every time they show up."

The property manager was surprised to hear a man's voice and paused. "You are…?"

"I'm Ms. Spencer's boyfriend."

"Oh," the property manager said. "Does Ms. Spencer agree? They are her relatives, after all."

Yvan replied, "Of course she has no objection."

Then he turned to Winifred. "Winifred, you agree, right?"

Winifred shot him a glare. He made the decision and then asked her? Was this just for show?

"Your cousin, Darren's son Timothy, just passed the civil service exam and is currently undergoing a security clearance check," Yvan said with a smirk. "If a scandal like this breaks right now, do you think he'll pass? Your uncle and grandmother won't dare to refuse payment. The moment they hear you're suing, they'll probably hand the money right over."

Winifred looked at Yvan. "You had someone look into this, too?"

"Yeah. Is that okay?" Yvan asked, suddenly nervous.

Winifred cupped his face and gave him a firm kiss. "Of course it is. Yvan, you're amazing!"

Yvan was thrilled to get Winifred's praise. He just wanted to make her happy.

Winifred suddenly said, "So does that mean I don't even have to file a lawsuit? A warning might be enough?"

"You want to let them off that easily?" Yvan asked. "They caused a person's death. Just making them pay back the money is getting off too lightly."
