I Chose Me Over My Marriage novel Chapter 121

It was ten in the morning.

Lyra Lennox arrived at the Civil Affairs Bureau right on time.

She reflexively glanced around, checking to make sure there were no paparazzi.

Maxwell Sterling was late again.

He was even later than last time.

A full thirty minutes late.

To her surprise, he was dressed casually, missing his usual tailored suit and polished black dress shoes.

Seeing Lyra looking so radiant and put-together, Maxwell froze for a moment. A flash of awe crossed his eyes before quickly vanishing.

"You're quite punctual."

Lyra gave a mocking smile. "And you? Are you just here to waste my time?"

He was never late when dealing with others, especially when discussing business—he always preferred to arrive early.

But when it came to her, it seemed he wished he never had to show up at all.

Maxwell scoffed. "I got slightly delayed on the way, what's the big deal? Don't tell me you think I'm reluctant to divorce you. Lyra, don't be so..."

"Don't be so full of yourself, okay?"

Lyra cut him off directly, blatant disgust written across her face.

"It's just a divorce, yet how much of my time have you wasted? And now you're accusing me of dragging things out. How can you be so shameless?"

The pride on Maxwell's face froze instantly, his perfectly maintained composure shattering.

"You..."

"Me what? I'll admit I was blind to ever fall for you. But what about you? What kind of prize are you? I can admit I was blind, but can you admit you're absolute trash?"

Lyra stood with her hands on her hips as she spoke, clearly furious with him.
