Miles Lennox was furious.

Seeing him stand up to leave, Lyra immediately stepped forward, grabbed his wrist, and hugged him from behind.

"Miles, I'm sorry."

She had finally taken this brave step.

Perhaps she should have said these words long ago.

"I trapped myself in my own little world and never stepped out of it, so I never considered your feelings. I finally understand that I was the one who was wrong all along."

He seemed to feel her sorrow as his own.

"Lyra, you have to remember, no matter what happens, your family will always have your back."

Lyra turned her head and saw him standing at the door, his face a mask of absolute fury.

A second later, he strode directly toward Lyra and Miles, reaching out to grip Lyra's wrist and yank her forcefully toward him.

"We aren't even divorced yet, and you're already in such a rush to find some random guy. Even if you don't care about being discreet, this is a hospital! I won't tolerate your filthy behavior here!"

Before Lyra could even frown in rebuttal, he continued.

"No wonder you were so eager to sign the papers. You already had someone else on the side. I'd love to see who exactly made you so determined to leave me."

But when he turned his head to look at Miles, he froze.

He had been so blinded by rage just a moment ago that he hadn't even bothered to look at the man.

Now that he saw him clearly, the fiery anger in his gut vanished instantly.
