Eleanor's face finally broke into a smile after hearing his assurance.

"That's good to hear."

Right at that moment, Harrison stood at the top of the stairs, looking down at the two of them.

He had overheard everything Miles said. His gaze was heavy, clearly lost in deep thought.

"Miles, come up to the study. I need to have a word with you."

Hearing his voice, Miles looked up, but before he could even acknowledge the request, Harrison had already turned and disappeared into the study.

Eleanor chimed in, "Go on. Your dad came back early today, so it must be something very important."

"Alright."

Miles agreed and headed upstairs.

Inside the study.

Harrison stood with his back to Miles, gazing out the floor-to-ceiling windows.

"What are your thoughts on Lyra getting a divorce?"

His question made Miles halt in his tracks, keeping a distance of a few feet between them.

"I don't have any specific thoughts. I failed to stop her once before, letting her fly into the flames and end up in this situation. Now that there's a chance to fix everything, I will absolutely not let her make the same mistake twice."
