Miles turned and headed back to his own bedroom.

The moment he shut the door, the frustration etched across his face was unmistakable.

It was as if he finally didn't have to hide anymore; he stripped away his careful disguise layer by layer.

He walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window, looking down at the tulips blooming vibrantly in the garden.

He had planted those tulips with his own two hands.

Much like the seed that had taken root deep within his heart all those years ago, lying dormant until the warmth of spring urged it to sprout.

For the first time in his life, he had lied.

But he didn't regret it.

The pink tulips were in full bloom, quietly awaiting their owner's return.

On the day Lyra was discharged from the hospital, the divorce papers finally arrived.

Leo had delivered the documents, already signed by Maxwell.

As she took them, Leo offered a token question, "Mrs. Sterling, are you absolutely sure about this?"

"Yes." Lyra looked up at him and offered a radiant smile. "I don't regret it."

Though she was speaking to Leo, the message was meant for Maxwell.

It was her final answer to him, and a definitive end.

There were two copies. Lyra signed them with swift efficiency and handed Maxwell's copy back to Leo.

"Please remind your boss to be at City Hall at ten o'clock the day after tomorrow to finalize the divorce."

After a brief pause, Lyra added another note.

"Also, I've already ironed things out with Silas Chambers. He'll come by tomorrow to re-sign the contract with a sixty-forty split. This is the best possible outcome, and I hope he has the sense to take it."

Director Lancaster had also already approved her resignation.

It was laughable, really.

As Maxwell's wife, she had never been treated with an ounce of the respect she deserved.

Now, she no longer had to put up with their hypocritical facades.

When Miles arrived, he happened to bump into Leo leaving.

Miles completely ignored him, striding straight up to Lyra and leaning down to grab her luggage.

"Let's go. Time to head home."
