Pushing through the crowd, Maxwell strode straight toward Lyra, not even sparing Aria a single glance.

He quickly crouched down in front of Lyra, his voice laced with concern. "Are you okay?"

Aria stared at the scene in absolute shock.

She had definitely shoved her hard, but there was no way it was enough to knock Lyra off her feet.

"You did that on purpose!"

Aria shrieked at the top of her lungs without a second thought.

But to the onlookers, it looked exactly like she had shoved Lyra.

Maxwell included.

Maxwell helped Lyra to her feet, then turned to glare at Aria. His deeply furrowed brows were all the proof needed to show just how furious he was.

"What the hell are you doing?"

Faced with his demand, Aria opened and closed her mouth, completely failing to formulate an excuse.

It was Lyra who spoke up first.

"I know exactly what you're trying to prove, Aria. But you don't have to stress about my relationship with him anymore. We're getting a divorce, and we'll have absolutely nothing to do with each other from now on. As for those assets you mentioned, don't worry. I'm not taking a single dime. It's all going to be yours. I just hope the next time we bump into each other, you won't be so violently hostile."

With that, Lyra purposefully took a step back, putting distance between herself and Maxwell.

Her posture remained completely poised. She genuinely wanted nothing more to do with him.

"Thank you, Maxwell. I know Leo probably already passed on my message, but I'll remind you one more time. Ten o'clock, the day after tomorrow, at City Hall. Don't be late. I'd like to get out of your way as soon as possible so the two of you can finally be together."

Before leaving, Lyra shot Aria one last look, the provocation in her eyes crystal clear.

She did it on purpose—so what?

It wasn't that she didn't know how to play dirty; she had just never bothered to stoop to that level before.
