Chapter 133
Marcus strode forward in a silver–gray suit, the black V–neck beneath revealing just the hint of his collarbone.
His long legs, wrapped in tailored fabric, closed the distance one step at a time unexpected, intrusive, crashing into Sophie’s world.
She could hear it–her own heartbeat pounding in her chest.
Thump, thump…
So wild, it felt like it would burst free any second.
The audience sat frozen in shock. At that moment, no one cared about the wardrobe malfunction. They only wanted to know–why had Marcus walked onto the stage?
He stopped in front of Sophie, blocking the hungry stares.
“Still not leaving?”
She blinked, startled, then frowned.
“Marcus, move. Don’t make a scene.”
His eyes darkened, a flash of displeasure crossing his face. Just as he opened his mouth, Sophie shoved him aside.
In the very next breath, the last of the jewels cascaded from her body.
But instead of humiliation, a hidden gown unfurled beneath, spreading like butterfly wings across her frame.
Silence. Even Marcus froze, stunned by her beauty.
Lifting her skirts, Sophie ran gracefully toward the backstage, her
most original form of beauty.

The loveliest things are fleeting. One glimpse is enough to carve them forever into the heart.
Marcus reached out instinctively.
The floating hem brushed through his fingers, as soft as her soul–then slipped away. His hand clenched into a fist, holding nothing at all.
The piano’s final notes lingered. The audience sat in silence for two long minutes.
And then–applause roared like thunder.
“My God, that wasn’t a runway show. That was a whole movie in minutes!”
“Was Marcus’s appearance staged or… spontaneous? Either
it way, was brilliant!”
“When Sophie first appeared she was divine, untouchable. As the jewels fell, the aura faded until only her true self remained.”
“And her final run–that was freedom itself. This wasn’t fashion. This was philosophy.”
“And Marcus’s reach at the end… unforgettable. You can’t hold the goddess. She’ll always escape to her freedom.”
“I finally get Sophie’s design. That was genius.”
The praise spread like wildfire, faces lit with rare joy.
No one can hold her…

The words echoed in Marcus’s ears, sinking him deeper into shadow.
He returned to his seat, composure restored, as if his earlier lapse had been nothing but a dream.
When the applause ebbed, Sophie led her designers and models out for the final bow.
“Thank you all for coming. I hope tonight’s showcase has given you a new kind of visual feast. A small cocktail reception awaits–please enjoy yourselves.”
Colorful streamers burst behind her.
Under the glow of sunset, the entire design team bowed deeply.
They knew it. They had won this battle beautifully.
Guests chatted animatedly as they drifted toward the reception. Only when the last had gone did Sophie finally breathe out, her shoulders loosening.
When Marcus stormed the stage just now, I thought I’d die of shock.
“Manager Sophie, when I saw the jewels falling, I nearly fainted. That twist–was it improvised? It was perfect!”
“The timing was insane. The music, the last jewel, the reveal–flawless!”
Her team surrounded her, chattering non–stop.
Though exhausted, Sophie smiled.
“My plan was to strip away some of the jewels, make it fit another model just to get through the finale. But when I got close, I realized someone had already loosened the threads. So–I went with it.”
Her voice cooled, the faintest chill beneath her words.
The others didn’t notice.
“Whatever it was, it worked. This show was a triumph.”
“The looks on those guests‘ faces backstage–priceless!”
“And online? We were trending when people were cursing us. Now? All that traffic turned to hype. We’re dominating the charts!”
Sophie chuckled softly.
“Take it. We’ve earned it. Now go to the reception and celebrate.”
The team dispersed, buzzing with relief and joy.
Left alone on the empty runway, Sophie sat down, the memories replaying in her mind.
She tilted her lips in a faint smile, lifted her head–and saw a rainbow arched across the fading sky.
Lucky…
“Congratulations. A flawless victory.”
Marcus bent toward her, his handsome face filling her view.
