As soon as the words left her mouth, the hospital room door swung open.

Lena walked in with red–rimmed eyes, head lowered, looking timidly at Liam.

“Liam, you still have me. You still have the baby in my belly. This is your only child–you can’t just abandon us.”

Liam froze. “You…you didn’t go through with the abortion?”

Lena threw herself at his bedside. “This is our child. How could I ever give it up? Yesterday, I escaped when they weren’t paying attention. Luckily I did–otherwise you’d have no child left in this world.”

“Liam, I’ll marry you. I’ll stay with you for the rest of my life. Even if you’re in a wheelchair, I don’t care. Once the baby’s born, we’ll be the happiest family of three. Please, stop chasing after Sophie.”

Liam’s gaze hardened. He shoved her aside.

“No. The one I love is Sophie. I have to have her!”

“You really don’t see it, do you,” Sophie’s voice cut in, cold and emotionless.

“That baby Lena carries is your only child. Are you really going to let him be born a bastard?”

“He won’t be,” Liam snapped. “Once she has the baby, we’ll raise it together. It will be ours–our flesh and blood.”

“Sophie, I don’t care whose brat you’re carrying. When your baby is born, I’ll treat it like my own. The four of us can live as a family. Isn’t that enough?”

“You’ve lost your mind,” Sophie said icily.

“That’s right–I’m insane. Sophie, I told you, you’ll never escape me!”

“Fine then,” she sneered. “If you want crazy, I’ll show you crazy.”

She clapped her hands. Two bodyguards stormed in, immediately seizing Lena by both arms,

“What are you doing?” Panic flared in Liam’s eyes.

“It’s simple,” Sophie said coldly. “If you insist on dragging me down, then I won’t hesitate to destroy the only child you have left.”

Her gaze was like a blade. “Liam, I was never a saint, Push me far enough, and I can be just as ruthless. You’re nothing but a cripple now. In schemes or strength, you can’t beat me. My advice? Settle down with Lena.”

Lena burst into terrified sobs. “Liam, I’m scared! Save me!”

Sophie gestured again. The bodyguards returned, this time bringing two officials in uniform.
