Sophie gave Julian a slight nod in his direction, a silent gesture of apology.
“This fiasco has brought losses to the International Art Exhibition, and I’ll take full responsibility. I only hope it doesn’t leave a bad impression on the
event itself.”
“And finally…”
Her gaze swept over the bowed heads of the audience, lips curling in a faint, confident smile, her eyes shining bright and untamed.
“I know many of you traveled from far away just to see Liora in person. I’m deply grateful for your support, and fortunate that my work has found such passionate fans.”
“In the past, because of a foolish heart blinded by love, I almost let Liora slip away. Worse, my negligence gave opportunists the chance to steal her name. But that ends now. Whether as Liora or as Sophie, from this moment forward I will dedicate myself to design, and I will only go further down this path.”
“I hope you’ll all keep your focus on the art itself rather than my private life. Thank you.”
Her words carried a calm grandeur, her presence radiating an aura of independence. At that moment, no one questioned her identity anymore.
In talent, in bearing–Sophie was exactly the Liora they had envisioned countless times in their hearts.
‘I was blind before. I take back every insult. She’s independent, fearless, and she is Liora.‘
‘Yes, Sophie lost her way for a while, but when it comes to art, her talent is unmatched!‘
‘Ladies, don’t let love be your entire life. Never give up your brilliance for the sake of a man.‘
‘True, true. But hey–weren’t you the one who said if Sophie turned out to be ora, you’d do a live–stream of a handstand while eating shit? I followed you already–when’s the stream?‘
‘I followed too. Never seen anyone eat shit upside down!‘
‘Come on, the joker’s gotten his payback, let’s spare him already!‘
Before long, handstand–eating and female independence were trending topics online.
Women across the internet began sharing stories of being deceived by men, rinding young girls not to sacrifice their careers for love. Liora had become a symbol of female independence, her fame soaring.
As the event came to an end, Sophie was about to leave when Celine came ruing over, looking awkward.
“Um…I was wrong before. Sorry!”
She blurted it out and bolted away.
Sherry blinked at her retreating figure, heels clicking, still sprinting like an atlete.
“She’s not too bright, but she sure can run. Who apologizes like that? Did she ink you’d eat her alive?”
Sophie answered casually, “Probably just felt guilty remembering how she treated me before.”
“Well, she should feel guilty,” Sherry agreed, nodding. Then her face twisted with guilt of her own.
“Rain, before the competition I quit a game match last minute. My gaming parmer got trashed without me. She gave me a whole earful and she’s still mad. I need to log back in fast and help her vent her anger. Do you mind?”

Chapter 187
Sophie sighed theatrically. “Thank God she’s a girl, otherwise I’d think you we ditching me for a crush.”
“Don’t be ridiculous! If she were a guy, I’d never stick around this long. And besides, look at her petty temper, all that sulking–no way she’s a dude.”
Sherry grumbled on while Sophie barely contained her laughter. If only Ethan knew this was his reputation….
“Seriously,” Sophie asked, face solemn now, “if one day you found out your partner was actually a guy, what would you do?”
“Kill him.” Sherry’s eyes flashed cold.
“I hate liars. And if my ‘sensitive little gaming partner‘ turned out to be some gross middle–aged man, I’d lose it!”
Sophie silently lit a candle for Ethan in her heart.
She said calmly, “Then you go log in. I’ll head back later.”
“Okay, see you at the hotel.”
Sherry hailed a cab and left in a hurry.
Seeing Sophie now standing alone, Julian hurried over.
“Liora!”
Sophie stopped and looked back. “You should call me Sophie.”
Julian scratched his head awkwardly. “Alright, Miss Chandler.”
“I never thought the person texting me for four years would be you. And with such a…stormy love life. No wonder you can design such unique pieces. True artistry always comes from a deep emotional world.”
Sophie’s lips curved. “I’ll take that as a compliment.”
“We’re friends now. No need to sound so formal–just call me Julian. And may ..call you Sophie?”
