I Ctrl+Alt+Deleted My Ex and Ctrl+C'd His Uncle novel Chapter 198

She faintly heard Lena’s voice coming from the next room.

It was you who killed my baby. Give my child back to me

The cries were broken and scattered. Sophie couldn’t tell if they were real, or if she was still trapped in a dream.

At the top floor of Morgan Group, Chris hurried in.

Mr. Morgan, our men have found the old man!

Marcus’s eyes flashed with icy fury. Take me there. Now.

Thirty minutes later, a black Maybach stopped in front of a villa on the outskirts.

The cars trailing behind quickly surrounded the property. Guards stepped out, weapons ready, sealing every exit.

I’ll go in myself. You keep the place locked down. Not even a fly gets out.

Marcus ordered curtly, then strode inside.

The villa wasn’t under the old man’s name, which was why it had taken Marcus so long to track him down. The place was rundown, walls crumbling, the gate creaking like it might fall apart at a touch.

The deeper Marcus walked, the tighter his brows furrowed.

This didn’t look like the kind of hideout the old man would pick. Was there someone else behind him?

I knew you’d find me here.

The old man’s aged voice came from inside. He sat on a peeling sofa, clad in a black suit, still trying to look like a man in power.

Where’s Sophie?Marcus asked bluntly, not wasting a word.

Step down from Morgan Group. Hand over every share of the company, the old man replied just as directly.

Marcus sneered. So that’s what you wanted all along? You should’ve said so earlier. I could’ve handed it to you without all this nonsense.

The old man’s eyes flickered in surprise. You mean it?

Why not?Marcus’s eyes gleamed with mockery. Did you really think my words at the press conference were for show?

He had anticipated this demand. Marcus pulled a seal from his pocket and tossed it to him. The old man fumbled, missed, then scrambled to snatch it off the floor, clutching it like treasure.

Watching him, Marcus’s eyes brimmed with contempt.

Pathetic.

You have the seal now. Kick me out of Morgan Group, transfer sharesdo whatever you want. With that seal in your hand, you can do anything.

Marcus’s sharp eyes suddenly darkened. Now tell me where Sophie is.

Chapter 198

How do I know this seal isn’t a fake? I’ll need time to-

Before he finished, Marcus seized him by the collar. His grip tightened like a vise, his eyes burning with lethal intent.

Don’t test my patience. Don’t push me to kill you.

The old man had seen countless storms, but even he flinched at the sight before him. Marcus looked like a demon risen from hell, his entire being exuding murderous rage.

II’ll talk!

Marcus released him, looming over like a predator. Say it.

Gasping for breath, the old man quickly pulled out a folded paper from his pocket and shoved it forward.

Go here. You’ll find her.

You’d better pray she’s unharmed. Or seal or no seal, I’ll make you wish you were dead.

With that, Marcus turned and strode out.

Soph, hold on. I’m coming.

The old man stared after him, stunned.

He had always known Marcus was wild, but he thought he’d ground that wildness down over the years. Now he realizedit had never gone away. It had only been masked. Marcus was never tamed, and never would be.

If he didn’t seize Morgan Group soon, Marcus would come back stronger than ever, and when that happened, he wouldn’t stand a chance.

Sophie curled up on the filthy bed, brows drawn tight as she forced her eyes open.

Ever since Lena’s miscarriage, there had been screams from the next room day and night. But today, it was silent. Too silent, like no one was

there at all.

What happened?

She tried to push herself up, but her head spun violently, her body weak as if torn apart.

Then came footstepscloser, heavier. The sound of a lock turning at her door.

Her heart clenched. She grabbed a water glass from the nightstand, ready to fight with everything she had if she had to escape.

The door opened. A tall figure stood against the light, breathing hard, his whole body disheveled as if he’d been running.

Sophie struggled to lift her head, but her vision blurred. All she could see was his outline.

The man’s chest rose and fell with rough breaths. After stepping inside, he didn’t move closer, just stood there in silence.

Marcus?Sophie’s voice trembled as she tested.

He froze, then strode forward, pulling her into his arms.

You’re safe. Do you know how close I came to losing my mind?

He had seen the bloodstains on the sheets and thought they were hers. His heart had nearly stopped.
