“Mr. Morgan, everything has been arranged, and the people are already on their way,” Chris reported, standing by the car.
Marcus nodded in satisfaction.

He glanced at his watch, then straightened his suit and tie before the car drove off, heading toward the Chandler family villa.
At the Chandler villa…
“We’ve all heard the news, but Sophie, have you thought about having an engagement ceremony?” Mr. and Mrs. Chandler sat on the sofa, their brows slightly furrowed as they asked.
Sophie placed her water cup down and shook her head–she had no idea about this matter.
The fluctuations in her pregnancy hormones had already made managing her emotions a full–time job. She simply didn’t have the energy to think about the engagement ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Chandler exchanged a glance, as if they had something they wanted to say.
Mr. Chandler gave his wife a signal with his eyes–You say it.
Mrs. Chandler shook her head, motioning towards her husband–You say it.
Seeing her parents playing this silent game of charades, Sophie furrowed her brows slightly. “Mom, Dad, what’s going on? Is there something you
need to tell me?”
They turned to her, offering an awkward smile. “It’s nothing, Sophie, it’s just that your father has something he wants to discuss with you.”
Mr. Chandler hesitated, glancing at his wife, before sighing and continuing, “Sophie, your mother and I discussed this. About the engagement ceremony–what do you think about simplifying it?”
“With the recent turbulence in both domestic and international finance, everyone is paying attention to you and Mr. Morgan. Even the guest list for the ceremony could be used against us.”
Mr. Chandler’s face was full of concern.
Sophie leaned back, nodding in agreement.
That’s true.
Suddenly, an overwhelming fatigue hit her. Sophie sighed, realizing just how exhausting pregnancy could be–even on days when she did absolutely nothing, she felt drained.
Maybe it was because she had been resting at home for too long.
Sophie suddenly looked up. “Dad, Mom, I’ll discuss this with Marcus. Don’t worry, I won’t let you be put in a difficult position.”
Mr. and Mrs. Chandler looked at each other, full of concern. “No, it’s not about us. We just don’t want you to feel burdened, Sophie.”
That’s how the Chandler family always was–everyone thinking about each other, not wanting to cause harm to anyone.
Sitting nearby, Sherry felt her eyes welling up. She quickly looked down to hide her anxiety,
“Mr. and Mrs. Chandler, Mr. Morgan’s car has arrived,” the servant reported.
Sophie raised her head.

As everyone stood up. Marcus walked in confiderally–his sharp suit perfectly accentuating his physique. His express
before, but rather carried a touch of tenderness
Chris followed behind him, with several other people entering in single nie.
Mr. and Mrs. Chandler were momentarily taken aback by the entourage, exchanging glances.
Uncle and Auntie, I’m here today because there’s something very important 1 need to discuss,” Marcus said, his eyes never leaving Sopile for ses a second.
His purpose was clear.
Mr. and Mrs. Chandler seemed to realize what was happening and exchanged an awkward smile,
Everyone took a seat, and Marcus glanced at Chris, giving him a subtle nod to signal that they could begin
The man next to Chris stood up. “Mr. Morgan currently owns two companies: Morgan Group and Hills Group, Morgan Group has 3077 subsidiaries, covering industries such as construction, entertainment, manufacturing…”
Sophie recognized the man from when she worked at Morgan Group. He was part of the finance department and Marcus’s personal financial advisor.
The introduction lasted for nearly an hour.
Sherry, sitting nearby, was struggling to stay awake.
When the presentation finally stopped, Sherry quickly raised her head, rubbed her eyes, and asked in a whisper, “Has the proposal started yet?”
Sophie smiled helplessly and patted Sherry’s hand. “Are you falling asleep?”
Marcus didn’t acknowledge the interruption. He stood up, took the box from Chris, and handed it to Mr. and Mrs. Chandler.
They hesitated for a moment, then opened the box. Inside were stacks of property deeds…
“These are properties around the world. I selected a few in countries Sophie likes. These properties are a gift for Sophie, no strings attached.” Marcus said slowly. He then stood again and handed over a few black cards.
“These are black cards. They’ll be given to Sophie. She can enjoy my wealth to the fullest. And I will make sure no risk ever touches her.”
Marcus’s eyes were resolute.
“Mr. Morgan…” Mr. Chandler began, his voice tinged with worry. “We don’t oppose your marriage to Sophie, but you’re in such a high position, and the attention on you is immense. Likewise, Sophie will also be under constant scrutiny, and there will be many negative voices. We’re worried…”
Marcus responded confidently, “You don’t have to worry. Morgan Group has the best PR team in the world. I won’t let Sophie suffer even the slightest
harm.”
“My sincerity is as clear as the heavens,” Marcus said firmly.
As he finished, everyone’s gaze turned toward Sophie, sitting silently beside them.
Sherry also looked up, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
“We have no objections. Whatever Sophie decides, we’ll support her,” Mr. and Mrs. Chandler said as they looked at their daughter.
Sophie stood up. “Well, since we’ve come this far, Mr. Morgan, you can’t back out now.”
Marcus raised an eyebrow, took Sophie’s hand, and pulled her to his side. “I’ve never regretted it.”
Sherry grabbed the pillow beside her, her face filled with a starry–eyed expression, as if she had just witnessed a fairy tale.
Mr. and Mrs. Chandler exchanged a smile, and everyone seemed to come to a tacit agreement. They stood up and quietly left the living room.
