Chapter 246
The breeze gently blew through the attic, the strong scent of alcohol lingered on the tongue. Ethan, however, remained indifferent, his slender fingers gripping the wine glass, watching the amber liquid splash around the edges of the cup.
Another sip, and only then did his cold face show the slightest ripple of emotion.
The wind outside blew through, dispersing the drunkenness that had begun to cloud his mind. But the image of Marcus proposing to his sister played over and over in his head. The sounds of cheers and well wishes echoed again in his ears.
He knew his sister was happy, but a part of him felt like something was missing.
Ethan picked up a photo of himself and his sister from when they were young. She had been so tiny, always clinging to him like a little kitten, holding onto his arm for dear life.
Now, she was getting married.
At that thought, an unexplainable rage ignited inside him.
With nowhere to channel his anger, Ethan opened his computer, ready to play some games with his usual partner to blow off some steam.
But looking at the greyed–out username, his frustration quickly dissipated.
“Forget it, I’ll just drink,” he muttered to himself.
A figure appeared at the slightly ajar door, then hesitated and quietly stepped back.
Sherry walked up, her slim figure slipping through the gap, entering Ethan’s room without making a sound.
“You’ve drunk so much?” she exclaimed, seeing the empty bottle of alcohol.
Ethan tensed at the sound of her voice, his sharp gaze locking onto her.
Others might have been intoxicated after just a few sips, but he seemed like a bottomless pit, downing an entire bottle with only a slight flush on his face.
“How did you get in?” he asked warily, his tone sharp.
Sherry picked up the bottle, studying it before carelessly answering, “You didn’t close the door, so I came in to check.”
She put the bottle down and glanced over at the game screen Ethan hadn’t closed. Her eyes widened as she stood up. “Hey, you play this game too?”
Ethan’s expression shifted with a flicker of displeasure, and he reached to close the screen but was a moment too late.
Sherry, already standing, walked around behind him, her hand snatching the mouse before he could move it.
As she took control, she saw a very familiar pink avatar.
A pink avatar!
Her game partner?
Sherry stood up, walking around to Ethan’s side. Her hand hovered over the mouse, her eyes locked on the account ID–this was her long–time game partner, ‘Moemoe‘?
She quickly opened the friend list, and there it was, at the top–the account she’d played with for years, her ‘cute girl’game partner.

Chapter 246
A sudden realization struck her, and an invisible bolt of lightning hit her head. She felt a ringing in her ears, disbelief flooding her as she looked at
Ethan.
“Is this your account?” she asked, her voice shaky.
Ethan, completely calm, nodded. “Can I have the mouse back now?”
Sherry gritted her teeth, slamming the mouse back onto the desk. Iler eyes flashed with resentment. “You’re such a creep!”
She quickly turned and stormed out.
Her words snapped Ethan back to reality, his brow furrowed in confusion, but he was speechless.
Looking at her retreating figure, he pointed at himself. “Me? A creep? What the hell?”
Just as he was about to process the situation, Sophie, who had just seen off Marcus, came upstairs and saw Sherry storming out of Ethan’s room.
She quickly approached. “What happened, Sherry? Did my brother upset you?”
Sherry sighed heavily, her eyes still full of hurt. “Sophie, I can’t look at your brother the same way anymore. He’s such a two–faced jerk!”
Sophie was left confused. Before she could ask more, Sherry turned and walked away.
Sophie entered her brother’s room and was immediately hit with the overwhelming scent of alcohol.
She instinctively covered her nose and mouth.
As soon as he saw her, Ethan quickly put the bottle away and opened the window.
“Brother, why did you drink so much?” Sophie’s eyes were full of concern.
Ethan avoided her gaze, a fleeting hesitation in his eyes. “It’s nothing, just some work–related issues. I had to drink to relieve the pressure.”
“Sherry just came out of your room. Did you two argue?” Sophie naturally sat down.
Mentioning Sherry caused Ethan to frown deeply. “She’s got a weird temper. She saw me playing my game and called me a creep.”
When Sophie heard the word ‘game,‘ her eyes instantly widened in understanding. With a helpless sigh, she recounted the entire situation to Ethan.
After hearing her story, Ethan fully sobered up.
He stared at the account he had pinned to the top of his friend list–this was the person who had been with him through countless battles, always talking non–stop like a little bee? And it was Sherry?
Ethan froze, his heartbeat suddenly accelerating, and his ears turned inexplicably hot–Was it the alcohol?
The quiet room was interrupted by the servant’s voice: “Miss Shaw, are you leaving?”
Sophie immediately stood up and rushed to the railing, but all she could see was Sherry’s retreating figure.
Sophie understood that something had happened that was too difficult for Sherry to face. But for now, she decided to give her some space to process it.
As for her brother…
She turned back to find Ethan opening another bottle of strong liquor. This time, he didn’t use a glass, but just chugged straight from the bottle.
It seemed he needed some time to cool off as well…
Three days later, on an auspicious day, Marcus had everything prepared.
