I Ctrl+Alt+Deleted My Ex and Ctrl+C'd His Uncle novel Chapter 45

**Through Silent Meadows We Trace Stories Left Behind Yesterday by Asa Rowan Flint**
**Chapter 45**

“Sophie,” Liam began, his voice tinged with frustration, “you know how challenging it has been for me to climb the ranks at the Morgan Group. I’ve poured countless hours and resources into building and maintaining connections over the years…”

Sophie’s lips curled into a mocking smile. “You’ve spent billions on connections, and yet you’re still just a junior manager? That’s quite an achievement, Liam.” Her tone dripped with sarcasm, each word laced with disbelief.

Liam’s expression darkened, shadows flickering across his face. “You know Uncle Marcus never really gives me a fair shot—”

“Enough,” Sophie interrupted, her voice icy and resolute. “Transfer the three hundred million to me. Right now.”

Liam’s eyes momentarily widened, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his features as he hesitated. “Sophie… what if we went on a date first? Just one date. Let’s see if we can reignite what we once had.”

The suggestion struck Sophie as absurd, nearly causing her to laugh out loud. Rekindle the past?

What he truly desired was the naive girl who had once given him everything without expecting a single thing in return.

Reading the sudden shift in her expression, Liam stepped closer, his hand reaching out to clasp her wrist. “Sophie, it’s only one date. After tomorrow, I promise I’ll transfer the money immediately.”

Sophie understood the precariousness of her situation; she had no leverage to negotiate. Three hundred million was hardly enough to secure the West City lot, but it could buy her a little breathing room.

“Fine, just tomorrow. After the date, I want the transfer done immediately,” she stated firmly, her heart racing at the implications.

“Deal,” Liam replied, his agreement coming too quickly. But then his gaze fell upon the coat hanging in the wardrobe, and his pupils constricted in suspicion.

“Sophie… why is there a man’s suit jacket in your room?” he asked, his voice low and dangerous.

Sophie felt her heart skip a beat, her body freezing in place as she followed his gaze. The suit jacket, unmistakably Marcus’ and far too conspicuous in the dim light, hung there like an unwelcome ghost from her past.

Damn it.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Liam strode over and seized the jacket, his grip firm and demanding. “Whose is this? What’s it doing here?”
