I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 101

The moment she was addressed as the second Mrs. Thorne, Sienna Winters lost her mind.

Five years ago, she had indeed been trampled into the dirt.

Over these past five years, no matter how much Zoe Lynd tried to make amends—transferring money to her, giving up all her income—Sienna still felt it was never enough.

Zoe would owe her forever.

"Zoe, how do you have the nerve to say that?"

Zoe scoffed, looking at her with total indifference.

"So what if I took him? Am I supposed to apologize to you? You showed me that video just to make me feel guilty for taking your man, but the fact remains that we are legally married."

Zoe crossed her arms. That absolute, radiant confidence belonged to the eldest Lynd daughter. Five years ago, she had graced the cover of Time magazine as the ultimate fashion icon, exuding a dazzling aura that no one could replicate.

Sienna was deeply stung.

The jealousy in her heart grew like a weed.

Because Zoe had loved Hayden Thorne, she had thrown away her entire halo. Sienna had taken immense pleasure in stepping all over her.

It was all to vent her frustration.

They were both high-society elites, so why did Zoe always overshadow her?

Fortunately, Zoe's father had died, and the Lynd family fell from grace. Zoe went from being the golden girl to a forgotten orphan living at her uncle's house.

No matter how hard Sienna climbed, she always fell just a little bit short.

"Enough. Focus on figuring out how to pay me back. I don't have the time or energy to argue with you over a man."

Zoe turned and left with effortless grace, leaving Sienna with a pounding headache.

Valerie Yates walked in to check on Sienna and found her looking pale.

She reached out to pour her a glass of water, but Sienna grabbed her wrist. Her grip was tight, her demeanor dark.

Yet, her voice was full of authority.

"Tell Mr. Thorne that Zoe was just here."

Valerie immediately understood the assignment and went to find Hayden.

Fifteen minutes later, the wail of an ambulance grew loud as it pulled up to Easton Group.

In front of the entire company, everyone watched as their boss rushed into Ms. Winters' office and carried her out in his arms.

Zoe heard the commotion and stepped out of her office out of curiosity.

She was just in time to see Hayden holding Sienna, keeping her tightly secured against his chest.

As he walked past Zoe, Hayden's expression was as cold as ice. He glared at her with a predatory gaze, looking like he wanted to devour her alive.

"I'll deal with you later."

What?

She had never been able to accept her marriage to Hayden.

Subconsciously, she still viewed Hayden as Sienna's cold, aloof boyfriend—the man who would never spare a glance for any woman other than Sienna.

Zoe walked back into her office expressionless, acting as if nothing had happened.

The only connection she felt toward Hayden was purely physical. Even when her mind screamed to reject him, her body betrayed her with muscle memory, eagerly responding to his touch.

Even the pitiful memories she retained of him had started to shift her emotional boundaries.

However—

Sienna was not getting out of paying her back.

If Sienna was broke, she could send Hayden out to work the corner for all Zoe cared.

Scamming her out of millions of dollars?

Yeah, right.

Was Hayden even worth that much?

Zoe frowned and dialed Cherry's number.

"Where is my art gallery? I'm free the day after tomorrow, and I want to go see it."

Five years ago, she had indeed wanted to open a gallery.
