I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 110

Zoe had only been here once before.

This was a private playground for the city's absolute wealthiest elite, where the annual membership fee started in the millions of dollars.

In the courtyard, Zoe spotted a supercar that looked incredibly familiar.

As they walked further inside, she saw Hunter Keating sitting there, dressed in impeccably tailored clothes.

His hands were neatly folded together, and his every movement radiated the effortless confidence of high society.

Zoe genuinely hadn't expected Nadia to bring her here to see Hunter.

Their current situation was unbearably awkward. He was no longer her sweet, loving boyfriend.

And she now had a husband on paper, no matter how toxic the man was. Hayden stood as an undeniable barrier between her and Hunter, completely isolating any romantic feelings that might have lingered between them.

Hunter stood up, his eyes burning with intense eagerness.

"Zoe."

Zoe offered a polite, practiced smile and sat down across from him.

Nadia immediately chimed in, "Oh, shoot. I just remembered I have an errand to run. You two catch up."

Zoe shot her hand out and grabbed Nadia's arm in a vice grip.

"You set this up, didn't you?"

She shot Nadia a warning glare.

Nadia leaned in close and whispered near her ear.

"Don't be an idiot. This is a golden opportunity. Hunter came to me specifically for this. He doesn't care that you're married. Play your cards right and don't let him slip away again."

Zoe didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Even if she managed to divorce Hayden, there was zero chance of her getting back together with Hunter.

Hunter already had a fiancΓ©e now; there was no way she was going to be the other woman.

"Sit down."

Zoe forcefully pulled Nadia back into her seat.

Hunter didn't seem to mind. "Ms. Fox, please, join us. We're just catching up as friends today. Nothing serious. The more, the merrier."

He was doing an excellent job of smoothing over the awkwardness to save his own dignity.

Just a moment ago, Zoe's instinctive rejection had delivered a massive blow to his pride.

Hunter stared deeply at Zoe's face.

This was the absolute last time he was willing to throw away his pride for her.

He just wanted a fresh start with her.

"Zoeβ€”"

"Hunter, I'm married. I have a four-year-old daughter. I don't know exactly what happened between us over these past few years, but regardless of the details, I am someone else's wife now."

Before Hunter could even launch into his speech, Zoe laid all her cards on the table.
