I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 117

Asher let out a mocking laugh on the other end of the line.

"Mr. Thorne, remember you said that."

The call abruptly ended.

Leaving Hayden listening to a repetitive dial tone.

His dark eyes narrowed. Sienna watched him warily.

A sudden sense of panic seized her chest.

She had a gut feeling it was about Zoe again.

She had always been confident in her grip on him, but his recent behavior had been wildly unpredictable.

She didn't dare lower her guard anymore.

"Is something wrong with Zoe? If she needs you, you should go. I've got Holden. Your marriage should come first," she offered gracefully.

Hayden's gaze darkened. He hadn't forgotten Zoe's words from the restaurant.

She had told everyone she didn't know him.

Hahβ€”since that was how she wanted to play it, he didn't need to care about her either.

"I'm staying here with Holden. Once his checkups are done and he's cleared, I'll take you both home."

Sienna's thrill lasted all of three seconds.

But she was smart enough not to push it. She gave a soft, agreeable "Okay," trailing behind Hayden like the perfectly obedient, well-bred society wife she pretended to be.

Win Lounge

Nadia locked her eyes on a wildly attractive guy sitting at the bar.

"Grab a drink and go flirt with him."

Zoe stared at her. "? ? ?"

Nadia glared at the woman sipping juice across from her, completely annoyed by her presence.

Even though Zoe had been a total trainwreck for the past five years, at least she had acted like a normal person the last time they came to a club.

What on earth was she playing at today, dressing like a suburban soccer mom?

"I'm a lawyer, and that guy is the defendant in my client's trial next week. Sexual harassment. I obviously can't go hit on him for evidence. But you can."
