Did he really think she would fight Sienna over a man?
Someone like Hayden belonged exclusively with someone like Sienna. They should just lock themselves together.
How did the saying go again?
Trash belonged in the dumpster together.
Just leave her out of it.
A flash of gloom darkened Hayden's eyes.
What was she implying?
She didn't want him anymore?
Zoe walked straight past him, refusing to spare him another glance.
Hayden thought back to the phone call from a moment ago.
Hah—
So it was because of that.
Didn't she claim she didn't care?
She was still throwing a jealous fit just like before.
He really didn't have the time either.
For the past five years, she had raised Lily entirely on her own.
So what difference did his absence make now?
Hayden also had zero interest in constantly coaxing a woman.
He felt that his behavior upstairs was already him coaxing her.
She had beaten up his mother, and he hadn't even held it against her.
And now she was pushing her luck.
"Suit yourself."
With that, Hayden turned around and headed back upstairs.
When he came back down, he had already changed back into a suit, grabbed his keys, and drove off in his car.
Watching him leave, Zoe inexplicably felt a massive wave of relief.
Every time Hayden was around, even if he did absolutely nothing and just sat quietly on the sidelines, Zoe felt like she couldn't breathe.
It was getting late, and terrified of missing Lily's pickup time, she hurried to the garage, hopped into her own car, and sped straight to the kindergarten.
This was the very first time Lily had ridden in her car; before this, Zoe always took a cab to pick her up.
The school was an elite, high-society kindergarten in the capital.
Every single parent there was either insanely rich or incredibly powerful.
Up until now, Zoe was the only parent who arrived via taxi.
Lily was absolutely thrilled when she saw the Maserati.
In truth, whenever the other kids at kindergarten saw her mother arrive in a cab, they always pointed fingers and whispered behind her back.
She had never said a single word about it to her mother because she was afraid of making her sad.
She could clearly see that her father didn't like her mother.
Her father only liked that Ms. Winters, and Holden.
"Mommy, is this our family's car?"
"This is Mommy and Lily's car. Do you like it? From now on, Mommy will drive this car to pick you up."
Lily nodded enthusiastically.
Seeing her daughter so happy made Zoe incredibly happy too, so she took her for a joyride along the outer ring road.
The rustic-style restaurant she had visited with Nadia Fox last time served really good food, so she decided to take Lily there to try it.
