I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 142

If Zoe hadn't drugged and slept with Hayden five years ago, Sienna wouldn't have been left playing the grieving widow; she would have been Mrs. Thorne from the start.

Even after all this, Zoe was still deeply, pathetically delusional.

Thinking Hayden would ever love her.

No one understood men better than Sienna.

If a man didn't love you from the beginning, don't expect him to magically change his mind later.

He would only grow to despise the woman he didn't want even more.

Sienna climbed into Hayden's car.

Zoe and Lily were shoved into the vehicle with the bodyguards.

Lily had been to the hospital once before.

The mere memory made her tremble to her core.

Her little voice was hoarse as she clung to Zoe, crying out.

"Mommy, I don't want to go to the hospital. I don't want a shot!"

Zoe couldn't comprehend Sienna's twisted plan.

She simply assumed Sienna wanted to drag them along to prove Holden's injuries so Zoe couldn't deny responsibility.

She was perfectly willing to own up to her actions.

If she really hurt him, she would pay the medical bills.

Zoe rubbed Lily's back softly.

"Don't worry, sweetie. Sienna's son is the one getting the shots, not my Lily. They're the ones who are sick."

And they were truly sick in the head.

Sienna's kid was like a fragile porcelain doll; one tap and his nose exploded with blood.

Thank god neither she nor Hayden had that defective gene.

Otherwise, her precious Lily would have been just as fragile.

Tears clung to Lily's eyelashes as she hiccuped softly.

"Really? Mommy, I won't get a shot? I'll be good, I promise."

Seeing her daughter in such distress, Zoe pulled her tightly against her chest, rocking her.

"As long as I'm here, no one is coming near you with a needle."

Hayden rushed Holden straight to the emergency wing.

When the doctor saw them carrying the bleeding boy, his face darkened instantly.

"You again? I explicitly warned you the last time that this boy cannot afford to bleed. What kind of parents are you?"

The doctor frantically signaled the nurses to wheel Holden into the trauma room.
