Zoe winced in agony, tears pricking the corners of her eyes.

One second he looked like he wanted to devour her alive, holding her in a vice grip, and the next he just dropped her like a sack of potatoes.

This man's mood changed faster than a summer storm.

His unpredictable, volatile temper made him a perfect match for Sienna.

She had no idea how she had managed to cross this terrifying man, let alone end up married to him.

Now, Zoe couldn't help but wonder—had she been coerced or blackmailed into this? Just one day with him had utterly shattered any romanticized illusions the 'five-years-ago' her might have held for Hayden.

How could she have ever had a crush on a guy like this?

His tenderness was reserved exclusively for Sienna; his love belonged solely to Sienna. To every other woman, he was just a brutal, arrogant jerk.

His ice-cold, split-second mood swings were definitely not her type.

Leaving aside his outrageously gorgeous face, the man she used to crush on had been a warm, loving guy. It definitely wasn't this so-called husband.

That was exactly why she had dated Hunter in the first place.

Hunter had treated her so incredibly well. He was thoughtful, romantic, and an absolute sweetheart.

"I'm going to get Lily her milk."

She scrambled up from the floor. Hayden just watched her silently, not offering a hand to help.

She rubbed her bruised backside, silently cursing him out.

What an absolute, unfeeling bastard.

"Don't bother. Mrs. Gable will do it."

Hayden hit a button on the intercom, and before Zoe could stop him, it was too late.

He sat down on the edge of the bed; the armchair was already ruined.

Mrs. Gable came upstairs swiftly, having a couple of maids carry the soiled chair out while she was at it.

"Talk."

He shoved the thick stack of papers into her hands.

"Read this first."

Zoe stared at the massive stack of documents, completely baffled.

"What is this?"

"Our prenuptial agreement."

Zoe was stunned. It wasn't like she had never seen a prenup before, but a ten-page document was already pushing it. Hers and Hayden's was as thick as a silver dollar.

Was this a prenup, or a literal textbook?

[Article 1: All premarital and post-marital assets shall remain entirely separate. The male party shall provide living expenses for any children born of the marriage. In the event of a divorce, the male party will pay child support, the exact amount to be determined solely by the male party. The female party shall have no input or right to dispute the sum.]

Zoe burst out laughing the moment she read the first clause. It was utterly ridiculous.
